Fisher Texas AM = Alabama Mike DuBose

The boosters at Alabama put a ton of pressure on Alabama to hire DuBose one of Bear's boys. Claimed he was an elite DC and must have the job. They were all 100% behind DuBose. When things went south the affair and 3-8 in 2000 those same booster went missing. Funny thing is Alabama got a SEC title win over Florida and Spurrier even though DuBose did not have the leadership and management skills to be a successful head coach.
Oil boosters strong armed our weak and clueless leadership to hire Jimbo without seeing the obvious 1. Destroyed the FSU program 2. Won because of a thug criminal generational player in Winston. They used the threat of money to the athletic dept as blackmail to hire Jimbo. These are control freak people. Now that things are going south these boosters will be nowhere to be found. When trying to gather money for Jimbo's buy they are absent not going to admit a mistake. Texas AM will not get at least an SEC title out of Jimbo but will spent approximately 180 million because of this mistake.

The best thing A&m could do is go hire a really good g5 coach who does more with less and consistently puts out good offenses.

every single one of your fans crowed loudly about hiring a championship coach and started a million threads putting the rest of the sec on notice. dont act like it was just boosters doing the program wrong. you guys bragged about it constantly without realizing what the rest of the world knew, you were doing the most aggie thing ever and overflowed with pride despite the programs and fans you tried to emulate pointing out your mistakes.

It’s my duty to remind everyone that Mike Dubose has a more recent SEC title than Tennessee. And Alabama fired him 22 years ago.

Maybe I'm wrong but I don't remember ANY TAM posters who thought hiring Jimbo was a bad idea (as opposed to tons of Auburn posters who didn't want to hire Harsin). And lot's of LSU posters said they wanted him too. It's easy to second guess after the fact.
And Dubose (with Shaun) beat Spurrier TWICE in the same year, once at the Swamp and then again in championship game. Even a blind hog....

Before and after Dubose we have seen Alabama win big.
Nobody here has seen A&M win big. Ever.
Comparing A&M and Alabama is just silly. A&M should be compared to MSU and they are inferior to them. Numbers don’t lie. Forget the posturing it is what it is.

Had 2 Auburn kickoff team defenders not run into each other. jumbo would not have had a NC. The entire narrative on him would be different.
