I know a lot of people will tell me it’s crazy, but for the first time in my life of watching Ole Miss play I’m not worried about Alabama.

I said this before the Florida game, that Miami is awful and Alabama looked mediocre against their week two opponent.

Not taking anything away from Florida yesterday but Ole Miss has a better Oline and better run game. Florida’s Dline is better than ours but not by much.

Bryce Young is not Mac Jones or even Jalen Hurts. I have not seen a dominating RB from their backfield and for the first time in a decade I can’t tell you the running back’s name.

I feel very confident Ole Miss will run wild on Bama. Matt Corral will throw and scramble when he has to. Ole Miss’s defense is not last years defense. Don’t let the naysayers lull you into a false sense of security. I think it will be a good game but like I said I can’t remember the last time I could say I wasn’t worried about playing them.

So…are you not very old? Pre-Saban…nobody was scared to play Bama. Alabama fans would probably tell you the same thing.

Also, why would you ever be scared to play a team? In sport, anything can happen.

You were worried about Alabama in the early to mid 2000s?

35 so not that old. Not scared, but you know, not confident in a win.

Ole Miss went 2-9 against Alabama from 1997 to 2007. Outside of Vanderbilt they were basically the only SEC team that was dominated by us during the dark ages.

I'd imagine the only game that Ole Miss felt extremely confident about a win in since.......I dunno, 1970, was the 2003 game.

So it does make some sense.

FWIW, Bama defense is running neck and neck statistically with LSU Defense whether that is good or bad...

Bama is averaging a pedestrian 4.0 YPC which is well below their recent norm.

Bama only put up 330 yds offense on the Gators.

Help yourself Lane Train!

Fair point. I admittedly forgot to factor in the Ole Miss suckage in regards to my comment.

I definitely think Ole Miss beats Bama. Bama struggled with our 1 dimensional offense. Corral runs as well as Emory and is also the best passer in the SEC. Lethal combo.

Does Lane run any option? The speed option caused all sorts of issues for them yesterday and really opened up the game for us.

Setting up for an OM win for sure. Lane wants that win more than anything, and with that bye I’m expecting some wrinkles.

Bama doesn’t look like the usual Bama.

And OM definitely doesn’t look like the OM we’ve become accustomed to in the last 2 years.

Ole Miss wins this one by 17.
