I know this because last year‘s defense would’ve given up way more ypp, yac. And we also didn’t get many sacks last year or turnovers.

Players not fitting gaps, missed tackles, no sacks.

If you can’t see the difference between this defense and last year no matter the opponent, then you haven’t been watching.

I'm not sure about all that, but I do think it will be a great game. Kiff certainly has OM on the upswing to where they can compete with just about anyone. I said when he went to FAU that the Power 5 program that hired him was gonna be very good in a short period of time. He's always been a good coach, but I think his ti.e spent with Saban was the best thing for him.

No need for good luck. It’s a foregone conclusion.

Yeah so many OTR will say something and then do a 180 and act like they felt this way the whole time. Their hindsight is 20/20 and they act like the Amazing Kreskin.

Alabama doesn't score as quickly as we did the last 3 years but we are still scoring on the majority of our drives, half of them touchdowns.

Our points pre drive rate vs Miami/Florida of 4.06 would have ranked #2 in the country last year amongst Power 5 teams - behind the 2020 Alabama offense that set the all-time record for points per drive.

Our defense has major issues. Our offense can be clunky. But I wouldn't feel super good about your defense against our offense.

This article about how much he hated Bama and T-Town is pretty fantastic.

On time just seamlessly flying by:
quote:

Kiffin on feeling isolated in Tuscaloosa and not liking daily 7:30 a.m. staff meetings: "This will come across wrong. But it's like dog years. Three years is like 21."

On his love for Tuscaloosa:
quote:

"I used to say there's a constantly daily battle between who can take more of my money between [his ex-wife] Layla and Obama. I figured it out. I really don't make any money. I pay around 52 percent in taxes. Layla gets 34.5 percent in the divorce, and [agent Jimmy Sexton] gets 3 percent. I make [about] 9 percent, and I'm living in Tuscaloosa."

I know a lot of people will tell me it’s crazy, but for the first time in my life of watching Ole Miss play I’m not worried about Alabama.

I said this before the Florida game, that Miami is awful and Alabama looked mediocre against their week two opponent.

Not taking anything away from Florida yesterday but Ole Miss has a better Oline and better run game. Florida’s Dline is better than ours but not by much.

Bryce Young is not Mac Jones or even Jalen Hurts. I have not seen a dominating RB from their backfield and for the first time in a decade I can’t tell you the running back’s name.

I feel very confident Ole Miss will run wild on Bama. Matt Corral will throw and scramble when he has to. Ole Miss’s defense is not last years defense. Don’t let the naysayers lull you into a false sense of security. I think it will be a good game but like I said I can’t remember the last time I could say I wasn’t worried about playing them.

Well LSU fan with you, I think you all have an excellent chance to beat them and everybody on your schedule. Ole Miss Offense looks better than last year and the defense, is better. I told some buddies of mine all Ole Miss needs is a 7 point improvement on Defense and they can win 9 games. I think your Defense might be 10 points better, which means you have chance to win 10 or more.

If the Bama Game was in Oxford, I like your chances for an upset. Gary said it best yesterday, last year the Defenses in SEC were not as good as what he is seeing this year and their was no crowd noise like Bama faced yesterday in the swamp. A fired up Vaught-Hemingway with that offense, Lane Calling the plays and improved defense would have been fun to see.

But Now you all are going to have to play them in T-Town and I expect the Bama crowd to be loud as hell for your game. LSU is already at 1 loss, the Aggie game is at College Station. So this looks like highest ranked game in T-Town this year

And yet, what he needed - like most teenagers - was something hard that challenged him and he probably even hated at times to teach him how to grow the frick up.

And it pretty clearly did.

I'm OleMiss all the way, I said before the season they have a special team this year. I believe they have the ability to beat Alabama @Alabama. Doesn't mean they will but I believe the talent level is there for the upset.

Should be a good game. Bama has things to tighten up. It will be the biggest test Ole Miss has had this year. Atmosphere will be wild

Yeah, such a tough place to win.

Y’all have a huge home field advantage, and we have 2 weeks to prepare. Should be a hell of a game.

Also, would love to see some top 10 losses this week so OM can sneak in there and make this a top 10 matchup. I wonder if we get the CBS 2:30 spot or the prime time ESPN spot.
