Hugh Freeze does though.

I guess that one vote is his penance.

they should be, ahead of NW anyway...

would love to see the complete list with points & "others receiving votes"

same could be said for MS State; especially with all the hype we've been seeing

1. MO is not eligible for Coaches Poll

2. Click Poll link in OP, or below, to see complete list.

3. MSU is at #28 with 111 points.

The impression is that Clemson gets to skate through their season and doesn't risk injury as much as Bama does. Thus being more rested and in better health at the end of the year. But with your level of recruiting currently, I'm not sure it would matter.

So when SEC teams win championships, the argument is that their tough schedule prepares them relative to teams in less competitive conferences, but when SEC teams lose championships, it's because they are beat up and worn out from playing a schedule that is tougher relative to other conferences?

With a whole new LB corps, a green QB and Gus calling the plays. What could go wrong?

once again. Hugh Freeze voted for Ole Miss... and Jeremy Pruitt voted for Tenner

Missouri absolutely should have votes.

What the hell are you talking about?

They won 10 games last year and they should have beaten Clemson.

Phil Steele has South Carolina ranked at #40 with their tough arse schedule. He doesn't have Syracuse, with their pansy arse schedule, in his Top 40. He does, however, have them at #41 in his Power Poll.

FWIW, he ranks how he believes they finish. He has South Carolina at #23 in the Power Poll.

I don't think Carolina's schedule is any more difficult than Texas A&M's or Auburn's.

S. CAROLINA:
#1 Clemson; #2 Alabama; #3 Georgia; #8 Florida; #11 Texas A&M

TEXAS A&M:
#1 Clemson; #2 Alabama; #3 Georgia; #6 LSU; #16 Auburn

AUBURN:
#2 Alabama; #3 Georgia; #6 LSU; #8 Florida; #11 Texas A&M; #13 Oregon

... In fact, Auburn's looks by far the toughest. They play 6 teams in the Top 13 while Carolina plays five teams in the Top 11.

Will not be surprised if 2-3 of us don't come close to reaching expectations.

But I won't argue with SEC teams getting the benefit of the doubt.

Show this to the Clemson fans and ask them how many do they play.

The thing is, all four of these programs have recruited well enough that they are in all likelihood Top 16 teams.... no matter what their record shows at the end of the year.

For instance, say Auburn goes 6-6 losing to Bama and Georgia at home and to LSU, Florida and Texas A&M on the road.... and to Oregon in Dallas. Let's just say all six games are close and they lose each one by 3-10 points.

At 6-6, there is no chance Auburn finishes in the Top 25, but that doesn't mean they aren't one of the 25 best teams.

That's why rating systems like S&P+ and ESPN FPI often make more sense to me because they are trying to project how good a team actually is without really paying any attention to the record.

My guess is all 4 of these teams will be Top 16 in S&P+ and/or ESPN FPI at the end of the year....... the problem is, they along with Georgia and Alabama all pretty much play each other as well as difficult OOC games. There is no chance they all finished ranked in the AP.

I agree, but I don't think the expectations set by coaches/media work that reality in (as shown by us not getting that benefit later in the year).

They may know that's the case internally, but I don't think they want to try and justify it to the public (by ranking a 6-6 Auburn, for example).
