Why is mizzou ineligible for the coaches poll? not like being on it means youre in the playoffs. I never heard about this rule

For instance, say Auburn goes 6-6 losing to Bama and Georgia at home and to LSU, Florida and Texas A&M on the road.... and to Oregon in Dallas. Let's just say all six games are close and they lose each one by 3-10 points.

At 6-6, there is no chance Auburn finishes in the Top 25, but that doesn't mean they aren't one of the 25 best teams.

That's why rating systems like S&P+ and ESPN FPI often make more sense to me because they are trying to project how good a team actually is without really paying any attention to the record.

Why would Auburn deserve to be in the top 25 if they go 6-6 and their only wins are to Tulane/Kent St/MSU/OleMiss/Sanford? My God, their own fans will have revolted by the end of October and they'd have to tar & feather out for Gus if that scenario happens.

Gus putting a competitive team on the field that still sustains 6 losses putting them in a crappy bowl won't cut it.

Yeah and we beat Louisville 77-16, Bama won 51-14. So what’s your point? Transitive properties does not work in football. 44-16 and Go Tigers! ??

On probation

Normally teams on probation/post season ban don’t get ranked in the coaches poll

USC a few years back (Kiffin/Barkley team)

Ole Miss, Tennessee & So Carolina getting votes but not Mizzou?

Coaches Poll/USAToday generally does not rank teams with bowl bans.

You were the one who brought up the transitive property as an argument in response to someone laughing at Syracuse being ranked...

A&M at 11. That's the highest they will be all year.

This is a blessing! Whenever we are ranked high, calamity follows. When ignored, great things can happen.

Spirit temporarily lifted!
