The next play caller is between Kevin Wilson and Jason Witten.

Looking forward to next weekend.

It's a productive step for sure; however, not sure it's as significant as some may think. The problems on offense stem deeper than an OC. BB is a must-go IMO

This reminds me of when 3 win Arkansas fired their OC and Kenny Guiton called plays for the first time in his career and beat the gaytors in the swamp the week after wlocp.

Oklahoma winning is the lock of the year

100%. Just loaded up on OU at Florida. Both teams that fired their coach last week won big games.

They will win, maybe 3/4 and OU fans and BV will take the interim tag off Wilson

South Carolina is the line in the sand…. South Carolina is a different team with Beamer but historically we can’t justify us losing to them back to back and then lose to Kentucky the same season…. someone was getting fired .

Its amazing how much OU fans love Venables and have his back no matter what. Now they are back to being excited and its all Arbuckles fault.

Blank slate for Venables

Well thats just great.

Making changes and trying to get the offense going right before Ole Miss has to go t9 Norman.

Thanks a lot.

There are two schools of thought about that.

Some think Venables did not have any say in who was hired at least when it came to Arbuckle.

In any event, Sooners have taken step one towards cleaning house.

While no rational fan expects to see much of a change with the offense in the near future, we do hope to see the QB's who have sat on the bench all season get some snaps in before it is all said and done.

If the Sooner offense could just stop looking like a dysfunctional mess then they can be very good.

They haven't been able to do the most basic stuff like.....line up properly, not false start, dont blow a blocking assignment, dont have illegal motion, dont run the wrong route...

They have been a dysfunctional mess for real.

If he can just get them to line up....actually do their assignments.....without messing up the most basic stuff....they will be much much better.

Its been that bad.

This is an interesting take. Oklahoma has but three years' tradition and history in the conference. From a different perspective, SC has a 30 year head start on playing in the league and understanding what that means (and it took us damn near 15 years to actually start to be somewhat competitive, and we're still not there with a modicum of consistency). Whatever y'all did in the Big 8 or Big 12 is really rather irrelevant, much like our ACC backstory.

I imagine this is just removing the last defensive piece to keep playing Mateer at this point since they were joined at the hip

Incredible they just continued to play Mateer against USC when in the first 7 drives OU's offense had 3 points, 4 3 and outs and it was 35-10 even going into the 4th quarter (only TD for OU at that point a pick six)

We better start Whitt vs Florida. Not one fan wants to see Mateer ever again

Whitt came off the bench vs Bama 2 years ago. 11 of 13 passing with 1 TD and 1 INT
