The NCAA is supposed to be meeting this week, according to several reports on ESPN this morning, and one specific item on the agenda is a discussion about transfers. As for Fields transferring to LSU, does LSU even have a scholly for him?

We have a recruiting spot for 2020 and plenty of scholarships

Great the wizard OC is gone to the Panthers Perfect timing for Fields I guess.

He really must be a wizard.

No offensive coaching experience at all and hung 46 on Saban's arse at home with ease.

You don't have to know football better than Kirby to know that was a mistake.

Fields is in every way such a superior player to any version of Fromm, that sitting him for Jake when Jake was struggling can't be anything but a mistake.

I am afraid you're right...from all outward appearances it looks like Smart made a collossal mistake...one that suggests that he is exactly what the rest of the SEC says he is...fantastic recruiter, terrible coach...which is something I am just not yet willing to concede as a dawg fan. But....if Fields left UGA and used the excuse he used for gaining instant eligibility it speaks volumes about HIS character so who knows what was going on Sunday - Friday??? There were glimpses of a poor attitude on Fields part while the situation was unfolding and some indication it was bleeding over to others on the team...nothing glaring but if you wanted to see it you could. It could be that there is nothing further than the truth but the choice we have based on the info we have is Smart made a colossal blunder or made a sound judgement based on experience and direct information from inside the program....time will tell but for now I am in the latter column....

OC
Last I checked he’s still in Baton Rouge.

Cooking up another legendary offense!

Your OC is probably passed out with piss in his pants.

Making a mistake doesn’t make someone a terrible coach. There are lots of stories about great coaches poorly evaluating certain players and/or being overly loyal to certain guys.

Smart messed up. That doesn’t make him a terrible coach, but there’s no use trying to cover for him on it.

This is what I was thinking. Why would the NCAA allow these players to just transfer so close to the season starting?

Unfortnately, given the current situation, it would be the right thing to do. Ohio State is not telling the student body in general that they can not pursure their goals at Ohio State due to COVID but they are telling the football team this very thing....I don't know about instant eligibility because you have to be enrolled in classes at the school you are playing for, no???? But even that is something that could happen in a couple of hours with admissions....it is very condescending on the part of the PAC 12 and the BIG 1o to essentially tell group of mostly minority students that the pursuit of their goals is being put on hold by the university while the majority white student population is free to pursue their goals on campus. That shite will not go un-noticed in our current environment.....

If he learned from it it is a growth opportunity...if he didn't his tenure at UGA is unfortunately limited as promising as it has looked at times....

Not certain we aren't about to see how much Smart took away from the fields situation....we have a similar situation brewing at QB as we speak....gonna be hard to satisfy all of that talent...someone is going to leave and have a good career elsewhere, most likely....if those that stay go in the toilet like Fromm Smart is probably just about done even with all of the promise....I hope it doesnt repeat itself but the situation, on paper at least, is eerily similar....

I wouldn't if I were him...I don't see anyway that he improves his stock in a limited season somewhere else and the risk is just not worth the reward...but I may be missing something.

He would ride the bench. According to LSU fans, Myles Brennan is the 2nd coming of Joe Burrow.

Hell fricking no. Do not want. He would end up being a cancer to our locker room and I like Myles Brennan leading this LSU team regardless. He can stay where he is up in Ohio and freeze his nuts off. We are good with what we have here down at LSU. Geaux Fightin' Tigers.

Member last year when you all told us that Tuna would go #1 overall and win the Heisman? And called LSU fans crazy for saying Joe would do that.

How’d that turn out?

Brennan is going to shock people that aren't LSU fans. We already know he's capable. It's just going to be another chance for LSU fans to tell all the rest "I told you so". Lol. I can't wait.

Brennan would have been dangerous last season as well, but he just so happened to be behind the best cfb qb in history for the past 2 years. He's learned alot, matured alot, and built chemistry with our team in his time behind burrow. He also has gotten some good playing time and has looked pretty good when he got the chance. Definitely has great arm talent and makes quick decisions with the ball, while being a pretty good athlete back in the pocket. He's gonna be dangerous with the weapons he has to work with.

William, something that'll make your evening.
Get your popcorn, soda pop, do the right thing, point that clicker with authority & put it on the SEC network.

Brennan is so much better than the interwebz give him credit for. I'll take Brennan with experience in the system over Fields.
