this is the perfect chance to reveal my prediction against LSU.

Mississippi State wins 47-0. Jeff Simmons has 6 safeties and outscores LSU and has more tackles than their entire team.

Mississippi State University also wins the national championship

Miss State will be very good this year.

I also think LSU will be very good this year.

If State has a QB that could throw the ball, then they'd be dangerous. Fitz is tough as hell, but if you look at his stats as a passer, he's the third worst QB in the conference.

That will be fixed this year. Influx of talent at Wide Recieved. Guidry, Whop, Dear (back from injury), Austin Williams, Mixon returns, etc.

Who’s going to teach Fitz how to pass?

Keytaon Thompson went 11/20 for 127 yards in his first start as QB against Louisville with 147 rushing yards and 3 TDs rushing all as a true freshman. So State has 2 proven QBs while LSU has 0.

3rd worst QBs normally named 3rd team all sec? He's no Drew Brees but he normally makes the throws he needs to. A lot of dropped balls and bad routes by our mediocre receiving corp from last year. His stats will improve this year.

Maybe so, but that is literally 1 aspect of dozens that go into it. You cannot possibly tell me MSU is better than LSU. They may be good -- there, I said it -- but they're not better than LSU.

As a graduate of both MSU and LSU and one that is a fan of both schools and follows both every closely - there have been four times in the streak where MSU was better than LSU

1998 - LSU won 41-7. MSU was better. They won the West and LSU went 3-8.

1999 - State won 17-16. Would have lost if instant replay existed.

2000 - LSU won in double OT after erasing a 14 point fourth quarter lead. Would have lost if instant replay existed. This is the game that I opine Saban showed everyone how to beat Joe Lee Dunn's dog safety crap. We returned almost everyone from a team that should have won the West in 2000 and went 3-8 in 2001 .

2014 - Dak ran wild and State won 34-29. No one thought State was for real and Mullen used the element of surprise. Just played Alabama at the wrong time of year.

I think LSU was the better team last year, but State had a huge advantage in coaching.

But this year, State has the better team. Its not often, but this is the year.

In the last 26 games LSU is 23-3 vs Mississippi State

From 1974-1984 Mississippi State was 9-2 vs LSU. You know how much both of these statements matter in 2018? Not a damn bit.

Fitz got hurt in the first quarter and we still only lost by 3.

So is State's new coaching staff. People doubting State are coming back to a new coach. I think we got an upgrade (definitely in recruiting) and possibly in game day prep. We will miss Mullen's QB development eventually, but not this year with Fitz.

I agree that getting Dear back will help a ton. Whop might help (Transition is tough for freshmen) and Guidry is a head case so who knows what will happen with him. But I do like Dear a ton.

I don't believe in Fitzgerald as a passer though. Maybe if Thompson takes over at some point.

Nobody’s doubting State for the most part, they seem to be getting a lot of respect in contrast to LSU

This is probably the biggest question mark. Even bigger than the coaching change. It could be the difference between 7-5 and a Music City Bowl, or 10-2 and a Sugar Bowl.

Good WRs are often headcases. To me that is a good sign. Maybe we have the next TO, Odell Beckham, OchoCinco, Michael Irvin, or TO. Being really good at things makes you a headcase sometimes. Trust me I know. I'm very very good at things.

LSU couldn't field a 2 deep on either line due to injuries last year against State. As the season went on, One team got better, the other went downhill.

Only on the Rant does Team A is Good = Team B is Bad

I expect LSU and MSU to both be pretty damn salty this year. The game will depend on who is healthy and who doesn't turn the ball over.

I wouldn't be totally shocked at any results between MSU, Bama, Auburn, and LSU this year. It's gonna take some breaks to get through. Good Luck to all and may the best team with a Bulldog mascot win!
