The powers in the PAC are going to be valuable to the BIG, and that is the next step with the SEC stripping away the top programs from the ACC:

Washington, Oregon, USC, UCLA, Stanford, Arizona or Arizona St, Utah, Colorado would be a major haul for the BIG. If I am those schools, I do it in a heartbeat because that is the only way they will be included in the CFB super league.

ACC may have some more say, but at the end of the day they will fall in line with the SEC/BIG.

Texas is such a vast TV market that is supports multiple franchises in each of the NFL, NBA, and MLB. You're in serious denial if you think aTm brings the entire Texas market all by themselves.

And Oklahoma is big enough that it supports an MBA franchise and has previously been untapped.

Don't you want even more teams? I'd like to see a yearly Clemson tu thing.

Sure I want Clemson, Notre Dame, Florida State, Miami, Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State & USC.

That doesn’t mean it is going to happen or even a possibility.

Washington, Oregon, USC and ASU are all valued pretty highly (typically in the 20-25 range from annual WSJ report).

ASU would be a nice add for road trips.

All 4 of the above are valued on par or higher than Clemson and FSU (neither add what the SEC doesn't already have) and VT (would be a great mkt to pickup)

Same with SC and Arkansas

Both schools have multiple National Championships in multiple sports, Final Fours, numerous CWS appearances, and have played for SEC Championships in football. They're not just sitting cashing the check.

sc and arky brought the sec to a conference championship game.

furthermore they sacked up and came over the first time they were invited. aggy/texas did not.

additionally, each has won their division as they take football very seriously. they've actually been to atlanta not during the peach or chickfila kickoff.

know facts.

And A&M is 16-0 by an avg margin of over 2 TDs against them since we’ve been here.

I believe A&M wanted to (Arkansas certainly wasn't the first choice for the proposed West division) but the TX schools cockblocked each other in the state legislature because they thought it would cause the SWC to collapse.

This is a turf war between Big 10 and SEC. ACC and PAC 12 are bystanders. SEC gonna strip the valuable teams from ACC. PAC 12 doesn't have anything anybody wants.

Made up story by the Ags to stir up support from Florida and South Carolina.

You think 2 of the worst teams in the big 12 coming to the SEC had anything to do with new TV deals? And you’re calling me dense???

That was what it was about 10 years ago, the landscape has changed and its not even about that a little bit now...its about the domination of the NCAA and College Football. You go get the best you can get no matter the "footprint"

Not buying this because the SEC is just kicking off the stripping down of the Big-12 for valuable parts because broadcasters have decided they do not need a Big-12 conference anymore. I think Fox and ESPN signed the death note for the Big-12 in the last couple of years. Neither went to the table to renegotiate while signing longterm deals with the ACC, Big Ten, and ACC. By the same token, ESPN solidified the ACC’s position with the ACCN and their big contract extension.

The upcoming expansion drive is going to be about extracting the valuable brands out of the Big-12 to result in a Power Four and leaving the rest to make an AAC-caliber conference. The ACC will not have teams extracted from them because they are financially secure.

I think this could be happening.. but not just a 20 team Conf. I’m wondering if it’s a complete overhaul of major college football.. using the SEC as the building block.. adding 26 teams to make a new power 40 league with Greg Sankey as commissioner.
