Well based on that logic, Dorsey was in a bad system back in KC. He was in a 3-4 defense when he spent his collegiate career in a 4-3.
I think Dorsey is one of the better run defending DL in the league. Hasn't produced much in the way of pass rush, but still, I'd probably have him bolded in the OP because he's great in his role.

same with jackson. Jackson did much better than dorsey. I think dorsey is still with a 3-4 team unfortunately.

Tyson Jackson is one of the best 3-4 DEs in the league
The Falcons gave him a 25 million dollar contract this offseason

Jackson played 509 snaps last season, less than half of the team’s snaps, but he still played a role in the defense. His +14.6 overall grade ranked 14th among all 3-4 DEs in 2013. However, that grade doesn’t tell the whole story. His run defense grade (+15.5) masked other flaws in his game, namely rushing the passer (-3.3).
Jackson’s fifth season was his best no matter how you slice it, though. During his rookie season, Jackson had a PFF grade of -41, by far the worst among all 3-4 DEs. He was negative again (-1.9) in 2010 before making a jump in 2011 (+8.6). However, he took a step back in 2012 (-9.6) before finding his footing again in 2013.

Re: Tyson Jackson.
If you are drafted 3rd overall and you are only an average player at your position five years in, you are not considered a success.

I guess bragging about offensive lineman in the nfl is cool? bama OlineU...
Doesn't have that great of a ring to it.

He was never even suppose to go 3rd overall and he is doing just fine.
Posted on 5/5/14 at 4:05 pm to poncho villa
But he did go #3 overall?? That's a pretty shitty argument.
He is doing fine. But that's not what you want when you pick him third overall.

LSU players haven been far more productive.

I trust the Falcons GM knows more about football than a sidewalk gump

My degree says otherwise. And I'll trust the Chiefs GM who didn't want him anymore.
Posted on 5/5/14 at 4:25 pm to BamaDoc14
who also drafted him #3 overall?

I disagree because he's good in his role. It isn't his fault he was drafted that high.

BamaDoc, good list and I think you are pretty close to having it correct. As a few have said with Mo Claiborne and Milliner, they are in the wrong systems. Honestly, they should trade them and I think both would do much better. Mingo was drafted to get pressure on the QB until he can physically be ready to go 3 downs (same transition he went through in college and think he is on the right track. Tyson Jackson should be bold. And I feel bad that Dorsey never got to play in a 4-3.
There are a few Bama guys that I haven't followed so I can't argue either way and will trust your info. And I concur with all Bama's in bold, even Barron. He actually reminds me of Laron Landry early in his career. Jury still out on a few.

Was Claiborne in the wrong system year 1?
Posted on 5/5/14 at 4:49 pm to JGTiger
I wouldn't say Dee is in the wrong system. He missed some of camp with an injur, and Corner is just a tough transition. To end the season on a two game span he defended 10 passes, including 3 INTs. He also made 13 tackles combined in those games, oh and he was going up against guys like Josh Gordon and Brian Hartline. I think that was more indicative of the Milliner we're going to see from now on. Obviously not averaging 5 passes defended a game, but still.
