In all likelihood, Wright was about to be cut anyway (or at least was a candidate) and this was an excuse to go ahead and do it.

Wright must have learnt some of the Saban techniques from Drake then used them back on him. Besides the Dolphins thought those ways were okay enough to hire Saban himself.
