Sankey's had so many chances to be proactive and failed to do so. Now all of a sudden it's a holy war against LSU, who by the way 1) isn't suing the SEC and 2) isn't the only team recruiting 5th year guys who went to an NFL camp. Even the biggest LSU haters on here have to admit something's not adding up.

Hell, you have teams planning to play guys Saturday who are currently deemed ineligible by the NCAA. Sankey is fine with letting them because of a judge's order, but he's ready to put his career on the line against this other judge's order?

If your dog don't shite in the house you grow to expect your dog to not shite in the house. When you wake up one morning to a pile of dog shite in the house you gotta do something about the dog shite in the house....even when the entirety of your experience in life lead you to believe that the issue of the dog shitting / not shitting in the house was settled and no matter the circumstances it was unthinkable that the dog would suddenly shite in the house.

Not once in the history of college sports could an athlete without any eligibility left under any rule have more than a flirtation with becoming a pro athlete in the same sport and then come back to the college ranks. The 5 for 5 rule certainly changed for anyone who did not have a significant flirtation with the NFL but I am not sure it addressed those who had said flirtation. I think the courts will eventually say that they are eligible....and I think it will apply from now on and for any player who has any eligibility left regardless of how they flirted with the NFL and even if they had an ongoing romance and even a consecrated marriage with the NFL because I do not think you can deny a person their ability to ply their trade. Its a brave new world once again....the next thing to be addressed is ANY limitation of eligibility AT ALL. Including academic eligibility.

Nothing needed to be done until LSU and Kiffin forced the SEC's hand. The NCAA's 5 for 5 rule was implemented many months after the athletes in question left college and its common sense that athletes that turn pro should not be allowed to return based on a new rule that wasn't in place while they were in college.

Maybe so, but I think LSU is more in over their heads than y'all realize. Non-Baton Rouge judges have already set a precedent through the Texas Tech/Sorsby proceedings that athletic conferences are private, voluntary associations with the legal right to enforce their own standards of integrity. A TRO doesn't prevent the SEC from enforcing its own rules, especially those that were voted on by voting members from its member institutions.

I don't want to see y'all kicked out. Y'all are a fun rival and a good athletic program and have produced some of the best and most fun college sports teams ever. This really feels like a situation where LSU needs to not poke the bear - the general public doesn't want this and your fellow SEC schools don't want this. Why continue pursuing it?
