Well, let's have Alabama play 5 less games next year before playing LSU and then you tell me how it made Alabama weaker.
We'd be way more rested with less injuries. There will be less film on us for you to study. Less opponents who showed weaknesses in the Alabama film.
Take a look at Alabama vs Clemson in 2018 - who did Clemson copy for it's defensive gameplan? Miss St that Alabama played earlier in the year. If that game doesn't get played, Clemson likely has no idea how to stop Alabama's offense.
Hell in 2014 Ohio St got a big bonus with Cardale Jones at the end of the year. Nobody had any real film on how to stop him. He kinda flopped once people had film on him.
Just this year Alabama's offense was rocking mid year. Then we started playing tougher defenses who used the previous film and figured out how to stop Ty and give him trouble.
Who in the world wouldn't prefer their team played less games in the year? Right now the entire playoff are based on certain teams getting a total of 1 less game.

Yeah, for every article/person or poll that says that Bama team was the best you could probably find half a dozen or more that says the LSU team is the best.
