* So no outfielders in the shot
* No visible umpire in the shot, because he'd be off to the right side of the base on a play like this
* Hes cheering with whoever is in the 1st base dugout because that's his team
* When he gets called out, he expresses disbelief to the 3rd base dugout, except that he doesn't do this at all
* And the camera angle seems to be someone on the field or behind the field, zoomed in on his kid (either the batter or the infielder)

And this is relevant because……?
We love section 243 (except for Sept day games) and we are near the top and on the aisle. Great seats and view for a lot less than 30 feet to our left.

The ironic thing about donating more money to move up the list - you are paying more money for the right to pay more money. I guess if you have it to spend, great, but the game on the field is the same no matter how much you paid to get in.

Screw all you plebs in section 243

quote:

I was with you up till this point. I never said that nor implied it. Your brilliant logic brought you to that conclusion.

Fair enough. All I said was that you implied something like this. Why even bring up this thread and the fact that some of these laws were the same one cited if you won’t tell us why you think that is in any way related? Just say whatever it is that you think happened rather than leave the interpretation open for others.

Tell us what they said or did at the hearing that made you think that this thread was in any way related to this.
quote:

I can't share more but I kicked over a very large hornets nest when I did this. It got the attention of A LOT of people at a very high level. I know that to be a fact.

I think this thread was part of that. Some of the laws posted in this thread were presented by the state.

quote:

You're really not good at basic logic, are you?

How on earth did you come to the conclusion I somehow believe that?

Your words. Not hard at all. The implication of your statement above is that this thread got their attention, and you then said that some of the laws posted here were used in the hearing. It’s not hard to make a leap that you believe some of the following:

A) the state people were aware of this particular thread and thus were “rattled” in some way and needed to pay close attention

B) someone from the state is posting here and used the same arguments as those posted here

C) state lawyers didn’t think of these arguments on their own but got great ideas from here

I think you are now just saying shite that is untrue or exaggerated to make yourself feel better and then hiding behind “I can’t say more here.”

quote:

I think this thread was part of that. Some of the laws posted in this thread were presented by the state.

Ok come on. You think the lawyers for the state couldn’t find the laws anywhere else so they looked here?
quote:

That guy looked our way when we were seated and made the comment "They're going to have to appeal this". When we all were walking out that same guy said "We're going to have to appeal this".

LOL, I know I asked that question earlier too - was more wondering if you were going to have poked the bear with the lawsuit and they just stuck it to you.

I can 1000% promise you I've not had any interactions with this case other than these posts. I know I'm giving you a hard time but I'm not that invested.

JFC. Your past 24 posts have been solely on this topic kver the past 5 days.

Why do you care so much?

I don't, really. The feature in TD that notifies you when a post is replied to draws me back into it.

The posts I've made have taken approximately 30 minutes of my life, in total, to make.

Why do you care so much that I am posting here? I'm not an attorney, I don't work for the OMV, I don't work for the state, and I have no real interest here other than this is an absolutely fascinating story to me. I don't care, per se, but it is interesting.

The thing about a petition for a Writ of Mandamus is that it automatically goes to the front of the line, by law.

That's why I was a bit amused at the folks implying they were legal types in this thread. If they truly were attorneys, they would have known that. Or rather, they should have known that. If the state didn't ask for an extension, he would have received his license on his 16th birthday.

He is going to forego the 6 month waiting period and he will get his license as soon as he finishes driver's ed.

Ok, so I have a non-a-hole question here, because I was actually wondering this. Does he really not have to meet the 6-month waiting period? Is that part of the order, they have to issue it "as if" it had been issued correctly at the beginning?
quote:

Would the OP have even run into this particular issue if the OMV didn't break the law?

Is getting a driver's license required by law?

Yes, I'm being intentionally obtuse about this particular point, but let's be clear - he made a choice in 2009 or so without fully understanding the consequences of that choice. He made the choice. Nobody did that for him or to him.

quote:

You are using the term "right" in a subjective, non-specific way. He's 100% right legally. What are you referring to when you say he's not "right"?

He created a difficult situation for his son that could have been avoided long before they ever walked into the OMV. I think that's wrong. In my view, I would avoid any scenario that intentionally creates difficulty for my children. He said in an earlier post that his son was 100% on board. I'm glad for that, honestly, because I think he's lucky that his son hasn't ghosted him over this.

What would it take for you to start pushing back?

An actual injustice that deprives people of life, liberty, or pursuit of happiness.

An actual injustice that impacts the good of the community.

Not self-aggrandizing personally-benefitting crusades that are meaningless to everyone else in the world.
quote:

The DMV decided not to issue a license in violation of the law?

Would the OP have even run into this particular issue if he didn't make this bizarre choice 15+ years prior?

Again, just because he won a legal case doesn't mean he is right.
quote:

This is just poor logic.

What action was taken that precipitated the event occurring?

It's because he's a ginger.

You wouldn't happen to be the attorney that was sent by the governors office to the hearing, would you?

Uh, no.

I don’t have to have a vested interest in this case to think this is dumb.

Now I’ll just add delusional and fanatic to words that can describe you.
Your logic and knowledge will fall on deaf ears.

He won, man. He did this for all of us.

He’s a hero.

Everyone is saying he HAS to sign up for social security, and they may be right. But, all those people people were equally sure it was impossible to get a driver's license without a social security number.

Give. It. Up.

Thus all made the OT even madder. Particularly Dr.EdgeLSU, who appears to be irrationally mad, but I may know why.

LOL. Why am I mad? Please explain.

At 18 he won't need your blessing, chief. Hopefully he'll be armed with common sense. It seems to be in short supply in your house.
