The LSU basketball marketing team posted all over social media yesterday that they were giving away the city edition jerseys tonight, then deleted it a little while later since they are for the bama game. Just another example of how everything about this program is a disaster.
Everything about the program needs to be changed. I wish they would go back to these uniforms.

A lot of teams have gone back to their 80s and 90s uniforms and they look a lot better. Missouri, Arkansas & Florida to name a few.

What exactly is this thread even about?

A simple post stating the number of SEC championships won by the men’s and women’s basketball teams in the past 17 years. A fact that can’t be argued nor debated, yet many on here have become very upset about it.

Conference championship or Tournament Champions DO NOT MATTER.

Although not updated in a long time, there are banners hanging in the PMAC for times women’s basketball were the SEC champions and tournament champions.

John Calipari vs Matt McMahon is one of the great mysteries of college basketball. For some unknown reason, McMahon’s teams always do really well against Calipari’s teams. There is no logical explanation for it. It just happens.

Please stop trying to compare the two programs. There's no comparison......

Obviously not when one program hasn’t won one in 18 years.

Fun fact:
Arizona has played LSU in the PMAC 3 times.

They were ranked #2, #5 & #1 going into those games.

They lost all three times.
Well it made me laugh.

The Obamas as gorillas was just to get more views.
I have no issue with people showing up, getting the giveaway and leaving. It’s on LSU to fix the basketball program and make fans want to stay.

These season passes or whatever they are for students to get earlier than other students were purchased, right? They essentially purchased the right to get giveaways.

In the new world of nonstop lawsuits in college sports, this looks like one that LSU would most certainly lose if someone pursued it and someone come out looking even worse than they already do.
College football now really is a lot like mid-2000s NASCAR. People forget how crazy popular NASCAR was in the 90s and 2000s. Massive ratings every week, drivers on commercials everywhere, selling out 150,000 seat stadiums like it was nothing.

Then they started doing everything they could to drive away fans.

College football will never fall to where NASCAR is now simply because of fans’ ties to the schools, but college football has definitely lost its way. Eventually a lot of fans are just going to stop caring and find something else to pay attention to.

All teams are on the SEC+ network during the season.

Conference hames are never played on SECN+. Except LSU twice this year.

South Carolina and LSU both lose close to $10 million a year on women’s basketball, while not giving two shots about men’s basketball.
Anytime there is word of a police chase every cop within 20 miles wants to get in on it.
To my knowledge LSU’s last game against Miss. St. and the game Saturday again South Carolina are the only men’s basketball conference games to be relegated to SECN+.

This is where we are as a program.
What our astute LSU basketball marketing and promotions department fails to realize is that having an article written about an asinine policy like that hurts the basketball program far more than having a few students getting a free tshirt or hat then leaving before the game.

Every LSU employee associated with LSU basketball right now is completely clueless.

I think the real question is, will the crowd show?

Let’s not forget that LSU was apart of 3 out of the top 4 highest attended regular season basketball games of all time. Get a good coach who will win consistently and the crowds will be there.
Trent Johnson and Matt McMahon are very comparable coaches. Trent took a perennial top 10 program at Stanford and made them average.

When he took over a loaded roster at LSU in 2008-09, he basically got out of the way and let Marcus Thornton, Garrett Temple, Tasmin Mitchell and Chris Johnson do their thing. He gets credit for that, but that’s it. After that he ran the program into the ground.

To this day I still don’t know why TCU hired him away from us. He went 8-64 in conference play at TCU.

A few years later, Cal St Northridge hired him and he went 7-29 in conference.

We actually improved every year under Johnny Jones until the Ben Simmons ordeal. Then the bottom fell out.

Matt McMahon and Trent Johnson are both all-time bad coaches.
Much like when a school waits for the bye week to fire a football coach. LSU does not have a mid-week game next week then has a home game Saturday afternoon.

The buyout difference between now and the end of the season is irrelevant at this point.

That’s what they told everybody, but it’s really just the “geaux” font numbers.
