but the people who matter will always view the B1G as 1 and the SEC as 2. The B1G is an A+ while the SEC is a B

Rank both conference teams in a list and pair them against each other (Bama-Ohio State; UGA-Mich, etc). PLay the games at neutral sites. SEC teams would win a majority of those games EVERY year.

What a great idea. It's almost like someone should've thought of this before

That is all he can lean on given the on field results. If he would tell the truth he would trade the tv contract in a heartbeat for a couple more championships.

Yep, while the Big Ten may make more money (but the difference is not as much per team as he thinks it is) the reason why we play sports is to win titles.

In winning titles, the Big Ten sucks, and has sucked for decades. Both the SEC and ACC have more in the Big 3 sports since 1970. and that gap is widening.

ESPN = Democrats

Democrats tell you what you want to here and it ends up being the opposite happens.

When the Big 10 expands to a true West Coast division with Oregon, Cal, Stanford, Washington, UCLA and USC, ESPN will be back in negotiations with the Big 10 for the After Dark package.

I watch Big 10 games when I am having trouble going to sleep. It is better than Xanax.

Bucki, if you have been paying attention you know the Pac additions having been talking about the extra travel cost for the non-revenue sports.
This idea of playing across four time zones is going to wreck the travel budgets for the Pac additions and the big ten teams traveling west.
The conference is going to need those extra funds to defray additional costs.

I don't know how much control the Calif Board of Regents has
over UCLA's move but you know they are not happy about it, not just a little bit.

I know Los Angeles is a huge TV market but how many people there watch college football?
UCLA's home attendance is pitiful and USC's home attendance is not much better.

You could just watch every team in the SEC not named Bama or Georgia if you wanted to sleep...no need to watch the Big 10 for that...but thank you for the increased viewership.

Just like your bowl game last year. Arkansas sleep-walked through it for 350 rushing yards.

Pretty boring when a team runs all over an inferior team like that.

Yes, I admitted the same on another thread.

Arkansas should have won by 40 for sure.

Penn State is relevant in wrestling and that is it unfortunately.

But we are similar to the SEC in that we only have 2 really good teams also and then everyone else playing for a winning season.

You really don’t though. Ohio State is a good team and everyone else sucks. Not to mention that teams like Florida, LSU, Auburn go through peaks and valleys where we are good and bad .. but we all have national championships in the last 15 years. The conference has 5 different national champions in the last 15 years. Ohio State is the only team that recruits even close to that level that multiple SEC teams do and it shows bc everytime a big10 school makes the playoff they get effortlessly dismantled. So…

You really have no idea what you’re talking about do you?

I'm not saying they are incorrect because it's far too early to tell (I mean what if OSU and USC win the next 2 national titles that will sway numbers for sure), but this obviously counts those incredible 3-2 games where people fall asleep on their couch for 4 hours and then ESPN says "this person watched all 240 minutes of the game!!"

I nap during CFB saturdays routinely and stay on one channel. Sometimes it's an SEC game, sometimes B1G or ACC.

I think it's cute that you think Florida has been relevant lately. The Gators have been as relevant as Vandy since Urban and Tebow left town.

ESPN's huge money projections in 2011 for the LHN network say hi.

ESPN used to be pretty good at sports and they somehow managed to frick that up with political commentary.
