I think it's silly that they wouldn't air it, because they are concerned over this one line: "We celebrate the birth of Jesus and the season of giving, bringing hope to the many children, parents and families that we serve."
Considering Jesus most likely wasn't born in December and that Christmas in it's essence is a Pagan holiday, maybe ESPN was just trying to get the hospital to be factually accurate?

Well this topic is kinda stupid. Insert God/Jesus into a topic and watch the sparks fly.

I didn't read all this, and don't know every single tidbit about the story. But....
It's a little annoying how everyone falls all over themselves trying not to offend the twisted little weasels who consider themselves "Professional Offendees".
If seeing a commercial about Jesus- especially this time of year- really causes you such pain and suffering that you make it a point to complain on a national level, "the problem is you".

My God, this thread is full of stupid.
You've voiced your displeasure twice now. I know you want a response, but so far you haven't said anything. You need to try to think of WHY you have the opinion that this thread is "full of stupid." Do that, and someone might answer you.

So if someone bitches loud enough, do you think we'll see The Ten Commandments on ESPN Classic anytime soon?

Come on, if that offends you, you need help. ESPN has an oversensitive policy and it won't hurt anything to air an ad for a children's hospital.
agree ...

I have it on good authority that it was the baby Jesus himself that forced this; and the SEC, while very powerful, is not as powerful as the baby Jesus.

You've been around longer than I have. Tell me: Should I expect threads as shitastic as this one all offseason long?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Yeah- but what channel?
At any rate, I doubt the SEC logged a complaint, anyway.
No way they'd be willing to bump heads with Saban on this.

ESPN pushed publicly for Florida in 2006, LSU in 2007, Florida in 08...and Bama in 2011 and even this year for Iron Bowl II...
Well in fairness both selections were vindicated.
In 2007 who else should have gone? UGA? They're also SEC.
Va Tech? LSU beat them head to head by like 45-7.

I think it is funny that they thought liberal, atheist hipsters funded the sports business in the first place.
It's similar to when Hollywood releases a liberal action/war movie. Uhh, Occupy kids don't go see war movies.

Why did ESPN even remove the ad? If they hadn't removed it would be a no story. Besides maybe a couple of people complaining, no one would notice or care.
