I wonder if they were 1AA at the time?

ETA: Nevermind, just saw the edit about their bowl game.

What was the line for Ole Miss 2008 vs UF? I am not sure the line was anywhere near -26.5 but that was a weird one.

Close. Gators by 24.5.

Arky was -3. And won 30-6. 33 point cover.

That game against LSU was an epic showdown of Curley vs. Joe (Kines). We only won 3 games and lost to Citadel. The highlight for me that year was being a witness to my Tennessee Vol friend throwing up after the punt return by Orlando Waters (beating undefeated Tennessee).

LSU @ Alabama in 93 has to be one of the most unlikely in conference upsets. Alabama was riding a long unbeaten streak, maybe Alabama fans can tell us the exact number. Obviously they were undefeated in 92 and had only tied Tennessee in 93 at the time of this game. LSU was coming of a home win over Ole Miss, but was only 3-5 and had lost at home to Florida 58-3 earlier in the season. They would eventually lose the final game of the regular season to Arkansas to miss playing in a bowl game. Arkansas had 3 backs run for over 100 yards. It was LSU's 5th consecutive losing season. The line on the game was near 30, if not a few more.

The way this game turned out was almost unthinkable- to this day!!! It really made no sense, as poorly as LSU had played that season (including a 58-3 home loss to Florida ).

Eighteen years, and I can still hardly believe it.

No line on that one. Would have been too high a number.

October 13, 2001 Florida @ Auburn
Damon Duval hits the game winner as time expires to beat the top-ranked Gators (that were favored by more than 3 TDs).

2001
26.5 pt underdog > 18
no.1 ranking > no.2
suck it

Yeah, if a ranked program plays a game and vegas does not set a line it is because it is such a monumental mismatch they can't come up with a reasonable line they feel comfortable with.

Actually it was 26.5 when it closed. It probably opened around 21 and was bet up massively since Spurrier was kicking the hell out of people by 30, 40, and 50 a game.

ETA: The gators beat vandy 71-13 two weeks before AU, then beat LSU 44-15 in BR immediately after AU.

I am off to get ready to turn in for the night (once the Yankees game is over), so here are the links to look stuff up with direct links to the two biggest SEC upsets mentioned so far:

Georgia Tech had one win in 1981...

Inexplicably, they beat Alabama.

KY over LSU in 2007 has to be at least on the first page.

Not an epic upset. We were ranked #17 in the nation and had a hell of a team that season. Lack of depth just kicked in as the season went on.
