Self-deprecating, but South Carolina over Georgia in 2000. Georgia was ranked #10, and South Carolina was coming off their winless 1999 season. USC won 21-10.

1985 - UGA over Florida - UF was ranked #1 with a 7-0-1 record. UGA was 6-1-1 and had two freshmen running backs (Tim Worley and Keith Henderson), sophomore TB Lars Tate who was the number 1 recruit in the country the year before, a sound defense, and little else. Florida was favored by two TD's.

UGA won 24 - 3 even though Florida QB Kerwin Bell threw for 408 yards.

Keith Henderson (true freshman out of West Rome HS) had 76 and 32 yard TD runs in the first half, and Worley had an 89 yard TD run in the fourth after Florida was threatening deep in UGA territory and John L. Williams fumbled the ball on a handoff.

Greg Waters sacked Kerwin Bell 4 times.

Texas was number 1 in at least one poll, UGA was 10-1-1 with the John Lastinger - Tron Jackson/Keith Montgomery backfield and a pretty ridiculous defense.

Texas managed three FG's and had a 9 - 3 lead in the fourth when their return man bobbled a punt. UGA recovered. Two plays later, Lastinger went 17 yards on a keeper around the end. 10 - 9 UGA. The look on Dooley's face across at Fred Akers was all like "What, bitch? You see that?"

What time is it in Texas? 10 to 9. Auburn probably should've won the MNC, but Miami held on over Nebraska and the rest is history.

Today's UGA fan would go insane after 3 games of Dooley-esque "good ole days" Georgia football. Strong offensive line, run first/last/always offense, bend but don't break defense with a heap of man coverage, and sound special teams. Play conservative, play hard, play your fundamentals and put yourself in position to win the game at the end.

People would be killing each other in the stands after a couple of 3 hour long, 50 run, 40 minute TOP, 13 - 7 games.

It was blue collar football with lunch pails.

A thing of beauty.

UT was ranked 4 and was an 18 point underdog, IIRC.

Damn that seems like an awfully high spread. Wasn't UT ranked like 5 or 6 going into that game? Sucks I wasn't betting on spreads back then, i would have bet the house on UT covering

The scary Tennessee legend. From long ago. Seem to still float around people's heads like a invisible ghost. I guess legends are like that. Very alive within the people who know them. Like tormenting ghost whispering remembered pictured of just how good the Vols can play football. The trouble with Tennessee in this year vs Georgia football game . Is that the Georgia Bulldogs has a long traditions of playing football very good to. Except the dogs did not fire their head coach and staff. Only to hire a Hollywood phony that managed to trash the Tennessee Vols football tradition for a better offer in California. Where the Lane Kiffin family lived once. Leaving the Tennessee football program high and dry to fend for them self. What kind of people would do that?

Georgia..........27
Tennessee....10

2000 LSU- Tenn. LSU had just come off a loss to UAB.

1999 SECCG Bama-UF. Spread probably wasn't 14 but I know UF was favored and EVERYBODY thought Florida would smash Bama as revenge for beating them in the Swamp earlier that year. Bama then proceeded to wax that add.

That was actually a pick-em. LSU lost 12-21. Miami OH must have been good that year

Your info has to be wrong. No freaking way was that game a pick-em.

That point spread was absurd. Tennessee was 6th or 7th in the Nation.

I'm late to the party on this thread so they may be in here but there are 3 IMO that are head and shoulders above the rest:

1970 Southern Miss 30 #4 Ole Miss 14
1981 Georgia Tech 24 #4 Alabama 21
1982 Tulane 31 #7 LSU 28

That was Tech's first game of the year and turned out to be their only win. Tulane had already fired their coach and LSU had accepted an Orange Bowl bid.

If this was meant to be SEC vs SEC, I'll take a stab after I do a little work.
