Stadiums will have to improve comfort of the fans.
1. Convert from bench to chair seating with cup holders; this will reduce capacity.
2. Get rid of September day games in the south (TV drives this)
3. Reduce ticket prices for season tickets.
4. Reduce concession prices.
5. Provide cooling zones on concourse.
6. Improve bathrooms.
7. More legroom.

We may go to a game or two per year. It’s a hassle for us to get to Auburn from Birmingham. If you’re lucky, it’s a 4 hr round trip in drive time. This means that someone isn’t drinking. There’s nothing worse to me than being around all your buddies who are drinking, having fun and watching the game and I’m not.

I will never understand this mentality. I'm not saying anyone is wrong for feeling this way. To me, sports are 100x more fun in person. No, I may not have every replay angle, but the crowd and experience is way more fun than the couch.
You haven't seen my wife.

I don’t really care about going anymore. I used to go to every home game. Ticket prices keep going up, I have to find a babysitter now when I go and it’s hot as hell most of the time. I’d rather just watch at home now. I’ll still go to basketball games because it’s not nearly as much a hassle to go.

Maybe it's time to lower ticket and parking prices? I saw someone cite Jerry World empty seats this weekend.
The whole experience there is highway robbery. From the $50 parking to the concessions to your nose bleed seats. And there is no rail or public transportation stop in Arlington.

The thing I don't like about this is that the views are always so restricted. I don't want to see Bregman at the game eating a hotdog before the snap, I want to see how the DBs are lined up, who looks to be blitzing, where the safety is at, etc

I hate to agree with a Texas fan but he's right. It is a fairly major financial investment to go to games today especially if you have a family. Families and students are what drives ticket sales after all.
I also think a lot of places over built their stadiums for a higher capacity then what was needed. We can shoe horn in close to 77,000 people at DWRRS (76,808 is the record) but we aren't going crack 60K or so most games. That is still a heck of a lot of people, but it looks bad when you see tons of empty seats.
I would increase comfort factor (larger seats with cup holders, wider rows, and all the other suggestions people have made in this thread) and reduce capacity.

Bottom line the TV money means they don't need to sell the seats...the bowl season is a yearly reminder the money isn't in the seats its in the TV contracts.
If I never go to a game again it won't matter to me...never been one who valued the corporate experience. However, I can see why people are less likely to go now than in the past.

College football is on a decline
Football in general is on a slow decline. Three or four more decades and it likely won't be around, at least not in it's current form. Participation in youth football is declining.

College football has peaked...the exception being in the South...……. it will only get worse

Crowd at Jerry’s World was only 60K. Some of these neutral game classics are losing some of their appeal to fans. The Auburn-Oregon game was a classic but the logistics were tough for fans. Auburn was 750 miles away and Oregon was 2000 miles away. So you are dependent on local fans to buy some tickets for it to really work.
State-ULL in the Superdome seemed on a paper to be guaranteed a decent crowd i. e. 40K plus. However, only 22K showed up which was disappointing to me though it felt like a bigger crowd was actually there.
USCe-NC only drew 52K in Charlotte. The trend is down. Even Bama-Duke failed to sell out the dome in a ATL.
I think we will see less neutral site games going forward and a return to more campus games.

Are we heading to these 100k stadiums looking like the LA Coliseum, with whole sections showing retired jersey numbers?
