in the off season. Wanting him fired before he coached the first game this season. And made jokes about the old fool, Ensminger, he hired for an O/C. Now Ed O is the SEC coach of the year at least at this point! He has made a mockery of the worst fan base in the SEC by far! So is anyone really surprised and taking seriously their latest example of even more tomfoolery? There must be an ingrained victim mentality in the LSU culture based on this season and their hair brained responses. A borderline great tradition mixed with a bipolar psychosis. Damn.
lol this is by far one of the dumbest post i have ever read on here.... if you call coaching beyond our expectations...yep im a fool lol, OP is clearly reaching and drunk

I didn’t claim that at all.

Got you mixed up with stho381 after you joined the convo.

I also don’t agree with that statement. I think most of our fans didn’t like the hire and did not support the decision. Doesn’t mean they didn’t root for LSU.

Don't agree with what statement? I never said they didn't root for LSU. I agree with the faction that says you can support a team without supporting the coach. I have no doubt that the vast majority continued to root for LSU.

To be fair those jokes apply whether he is successful or not

Actually, LSU’s results are not much different than Miles. Record is about the same.

O has done a good job thus far, though, like everyone else , he has failed to beat Saban.

He has a chance next Saturday to take that next step. Odds are against him but that is why they play the game on the field. LSU at this point does not have enough offense to keep up with Bama. They will score points. We will see what happens.

I’ve never been on that train. I like Orgeron, and I have since USC.

I think I’m an outlier, but I prefer him over a jimbo.

A lot of people on this very board was also laughing at the hire as well. Still too soon to determine Ed O tenure but he is off to a good start.

Pretty much everyone in the SEC was mocking O since LSU signed him as head coach. Now that he's proven himself everyone wants to throw the garbage only at the LSU fanbase? Lol... And I love the wole "LSU has the worst fanbase in the SEC." Yeah that would explain why Tiger Stadium is so empty and quiet all the time, right?

believe it or not, posters on message boards are generally not an accurate representation of a fanbase as a whole, just like the people who write yelp reviews aren't an accurate representation of all of the patrons of a business. If we were to believe that what we see on the internet is the mood of an entire group of people, how on God's green earth did Donald Trump beat Hillary Clinton. Based on my facebook feed, it should have been a landslide for Hillary

O’s Win over Georgia is similar to Sumlin’s win over Bama. O will keep his job for much longer than warranted because of it.

Unless Georgia shits the bed the rest of the season.

There were only two or three posters on the Rant that ever expressed this and they were called out.

The "wanting him to fail" boogeyman is one of the dumber narratives I've seen that board contrive.

He's also made fools of the MSU, Texas A&M (3 times now), Arkansas, Ole Miss (3 times now), UGA, UF, Auburn (twice), Mizzou and Miami fanbases and coaching staff's while I'm thinking about it.

I'd much rather eat crow about Orgeron-and I feel as if I need to at this point-than be one of those other coaching staff's who got rooked by him.

Hell while we're at it...How does USC feel about passing on him?

How can you doubt him after he made a chump out of Smart, who is obviously thought of a golden boy and a next great coach. O was on him like a cheap suit. And didn't get off til the game was over. He had too much man about him to agree he had out coached Smart so all he said was we did some things they were not ready for. No shite.

Not me, baw.

I've been enjoying the ride since day one.

A real coon arse in charge.

Just needed a QB with balls to match the coach's.

Terrible analysis. Let me correct you.

Some wanted him fired. They tended to be the most vocal. I predicted 9/10 wins. I was surprised we beat Auburn and surprised we lost to UForfeit. I expect another loss and maybe two. With everybody almost coming back and O plugging holes it sets up nicely for 2019. I have always been bullish on Ensminger and have explained why in various threads .

LSU does not have a victim mentality. It has just received consistently biased treatment from the SEC office in ALL matters for decades. The SEC office is awash in Bama culture and is inherently ambivalent about all LSU concerns. An observant LSU fan could give you two dozen examples, not that it would matter. This one just feels egregious to many. How it is SPECIFICALLY Bama’s “ fault “ however requires a certain conspiratorial mindset that I do not subscribe to.

LSU is not bipolar, but it tends to be self- loathing. It has been this way for decades imho. It is a provincialism unique to the culture of South Louisiana and when LSU fans feel anxiety they tend to go overboard in assigning blame within.

Now I know you will just reflexively downvote, but if you read that again, you may gain an actual INSIGHT instead of just making a cheap insult and hi fiving your boys.
