Ed Orgeron has made damn fools out of the LSU fan base. They fought him tooth and nail

in the off season. Wanting him fired before he coached the first game this season. And made jokes about the old fool, Ensminger, he hired for an O/C. Now Ed O is the SEC coach of the year at least at this point! He has made a mockery of the worst fan base in the SEC by far!
So is anyone really surprised and taking seriously their latest example of even more tomfoolery? There must be an ingrained victim mentality in the LSU culture based on this season and their hair brained responses. A borderline great tradition mixed with a bipolar psychosis. Damn.

Will Muschamp’s second year at Florida was pretty good. 11-2 with four wins against teams in the top 12 of the BCS standings. Orgeron is having a good year but he hasn’t made fools of those LSU fans yet.

To be honest, I wasn’t crazy about the Coach O hire but once it was made, I just wanted him to win. Many “fans” were wanting him to fail so that he could be fired. I’ll never understand people like that.

Let's be honest...if we would have sucked this year you would've just turned around and made fun of the half of our fanbase who supported him. That's what this board is for

I said ED OH was a great hire from day one. 10-2 worst case this year. We ridin at 7-1 not bad at all 4 in nation.

So you geniuses replaced him with McElwain. Will is now a well thought of, highly paid SEC head coach, while McElwain is an assistant in another league. Makes sense. BTW, Muschamp finished well ahead of your Gators in his second season at a never was program while his replacement finished close to the bottom in his 3rd year leading the mighty Gators. Congratulations.

I can tell you with 100% certainty that the "fan base" that have never gotten behind Coach O since he was hired are a small vocal minority in the actual fan base. Most of the real fans love LSU and regardless of the coach are going to support the team.

They didn't seem like a minority. "Shrimpboat captain", "he talks like us", and gumbo jokes were getting way more upvotes than any compliments.

You missed the point entirely. Even the ones who didn’t/don’t like the hire obviously still support LSU football. I hated the hire. Doesn’t mean I wasn’t cheering my arse off game 1.

I didn't miss the point. You claimed that the fans that didn't get behind O from day one were a "small minority". That might be true but not on tigerdroppings.
Whether or not you can be a fan of LSU and not support the coach is a separate issue and a debate that's raged on that board since I joined the site.

I didn't like the way LSU handled the coaching "search", but I was in the camp of the folks who wanted to give O a chance.
He's exceeded my expectations by a lot this season.

I didn’t claim that at all. I also don’t agree with that statement. I think most of our fans didn’t like the hire and did not support the decision. Doesn’t mean they didn’t root for LSU.

Sec CoY has been a curse more times than not for coaches not named Saban in the Saban era at Bama.
