The quality of life for the 350 million people in this country HAS to freaking count for something, beyond the "saving of lives" for the tens of thousands this actually poses a threat to.
We could save a shite ton of lives by banning cars and sports forever and just sitting at home all day forever, but that would be miserable.

Why should he be allowed to discuss sports. Stick to the virus pal. We don’t need your fricking input on when sports should be started. Who does this fricker think he is.

Let me ask you a question. When you heard Kevin Durant caught this did you honestly think he was going to die from it. That thought never crossed my mind
Now if my parents caught it that would be a different story. Or a older co worker etc
This isn’t like the walking dead where if you get bit you’re 100% done
There has to be a better way to do this for most of society where this would be an inconvenience if you caught. Like any other flu sickness.

He also hasn't been right about anything. He's changed his mind on different issues and is never held accountable. It's like even though the bastard keeps swinging and missing we still must listen to him because he's an "expert". Frick his sawed off arse.

His medical opinion is valuable. His opinion on whether or not the standard to operate a business is the ability to "guarantee safety" is not. If it were up to him we will likely be staying home for most our lives.
He is starting to reach into areas that are out of his scope.

Not really team sports. Wasn't worried about including them in this scenario.

There are so many other things that are more deadly and sad and curable that should be and should have been taken precedent than this fricking thing
Over three million kids, that’s not people, just kids die from starvation and malnutrition each year. You know how curable that is. Why can’t all this money go to help that. Where has our health leaders been for that? I mean Jesus h Christ
More people are going to die from respiratory related cancer, that’s not all forms of cancer, just lung related, than this virus this year. You would save more lives if you invented a cure of that than a this vaccine
I’m not downplaying this because I do think this was right to not overwhelm the healthcare system and to also really pound it home to American people and the world that you should take precautions
If we have to wear masks at work or stay 6 feet away from people in stores or play events without fans in the stands for a year that’s fine
But this “solution” to basically ruin people’s lives by killing businesses and losing jobs and tanking the market and on and on for something that poses minimal risk to 99.99999999% of the country is one of the all time clusterfricks if this continues to go on until the end of 2020

I am in the risk averse group also personally and unfortunately what everyone does affects us all so it makes us all review our personal behavior as to how it relates to all of us, makes us responsible for each other not just ourselves...like wearing the mask around others.
The red states going open does give us an empirical experiment though. These decisions to open will either result in a spike that is either acceptable or not from a cost benefit analysis of infection rates and hospital capacity vs. experiencing a Great Depression and the lives lost as a result.
We will see and the path going forward I think will be clearer at least I guess.

Then be a coward all your life and hide indoors and nothing bad will ever happen to you but while you’re being a coward do the rest of us a favor and don’t suck up government assistance because you’re too scared to come out of your house and be a productive member of society.

UGA’s season is safe since they’ve been honing sound distancing practices from any sort of title for a solid 40 years now

We can’t live life like this. Even if it wasn’t unsustainable, it’s not even living. Taking risks is part of life.

How many times does this hack have to be wrong before people tune him out.
There is no reason why we aren't having large gatherings/sporting events right now.
