But when the medical experts around the world DON'T know what to do, are you wanting to take that chance?

Yes, when the alternative is as tragic as the current societal situation.

When somebody close to you gets really sick, or heaven forbid dies then your attitude and the attitudes of the idiot protesters will change.

Individual deaths don’t change the cost/benefit analysis of destroying the livelihoods of 30m+ people (so far, and just in the US. That number will be much, much higher by the end of this). A lot of people will also die from postponed medical exams and preventative care, suicide, substance abuse, domestic violence, and, at extreme levels of economic despair, starvation. Those deaths are no less tragic than COVID deaths. Given the average age of those affected, many will be even more devastating.

There is a huge difference between playing college football and delaying medical care. Medical care shouldn’t be delayed and businesses should be allowed to open if people wear masks and maintain distances but cramming 70k fans into a stadium isn’t part of that survival equation

My post that you originally responded to referred to the lockdown.

It isn’t about me or my family, my man. If it were, I am willing to take that chance. Life is dangerous.

ETA: I also can’t stress this enough, but people also die when economies collapse and they can’t take care of themselves.

This isn’t a clear-cut, life vs money issue like so many seem to think.

Never mind that we can’t actually lock down long enough for a lock down strategy to kill off the virus.

Fauci is trying to cling onto his newfound fame. Once the virus disappears so will Fauci.

Seasonal flu claims 600k lives each year, with a vaccine.
Coronavirus has claimed 200k lives without a vaccine in the last 6 months.

Fauci only cares about what is protocol in their profession. He isn't an economist, small business owners, etc.
Ask any medical person about this, they will say stay in your house for the next 12 months for a virus that is and will be just as common as the flu going forward.

You are going to get it one day, so why hide out unless you want too?

When you and your friends are willing to go to Africa, which is where most of those deaths occur, and prevent ethnic conflicts as well as create a weather machine that ends droughts then it might actually have something to do with the current pandemic. It’s amusing how the reds love the value of human life until it interferes with sports. Now, everyone is an expert on how many people die each year from hummingbird attacks to lightening strikes so they can downplay the nearly 65k Americans who have died so far. Most churches have canceled services, yet hardly a peep is murmured but the minute college football is included well “by golly it’s gone too far”

It’s the seasonal flu argument again. Those seasonal flu stats that everyone loves to quote are nothing more than estimates and guesses. The actual number of Americans who tested positive for the flu upon their deaths ranges between 5-15k per year and that is with 30-40 million people getting it per year. The actual number of Americans who tested positive for Coronavirus upon their deaths as of today is roughly 65k. If you want to argue that it’s been in the US since January and 10-15 million Americans have gotten it instead of the reported 2 million, it is still 5 to 10 times more deadly at this moment and the number of deaths is climbing by the day. The notion that everyone will get it and be “fine” is idiotic. I am around hundreds of kids five days a week for the past several years and have never had the flu. Many seasonal flu shots are ineffective unless you happen to receive the vaccine for that particular strand of the flu so this notion that “it’s got a vaccine and is more deadly” is nonsense.

They didn’t close aTm during the HIV epidemic. We aren’t stopping football season for COVID.

Fauci is loving his time in the spotlight and he's doing all he can to prolong it. This time next year he knows his name is going to be Who?

All the Dr's and scientist have been harping on doom and gloom from day one of this and all from bad data to boot.

I want football to happen this year but with people like this on an national platform it just may not happen sadly.
