Does USCw regret not retaining Coach GOATgeron after the 2013 season?

My how the mighty have fallen. USCw hired a drunkard when they had a future CFP contender in Coach GOATgeron leading the helm. After Lane Kiffin's subpar 3-2 start, Coach GOATgeron finished out the season 10-4 (not bad considering the circumstances), including a win over #5 Stanford. The fans loved him, and Will Ferrell loved him.

Fast forward 5 years and Coach GOATgeron is in his second full season as the Head GOATch at LSU, is ranked #5 and is 6-1. Meanwhile, USCw has skidded into irrelevancy.

F dem is right.

USC has always been very cyclical. They need a pretty coach and wins, not O. They need someone marketable in LA.

Orgeron and Los Angeles... As a position coach, okay. As the face of the program, no chance.

In all fairness, they aren’t much better after a loss.

Pete Carroll was their perfect coach. He was so Hollywood. He was able to have celebrities hang around practices and be really showy but keep his guys sharp enough to dominate. It was just such a good pairing.

Their new coach has taken them to the Pac 12 title game twice (winning 1) and 2 New Years 6 bowls.

They'll probably go to the Pac 12 title again this year and play in the Rose Bowl.

Far from irrelevant.

LSU fans will be calling on O to be fired again before the end of the season.

Actually, SC folks were disappointed when O didn't get the job. The players were heartbroken. They really loved him.
Everyone wishes O the best. We would take him any day over Helton. Helton wins due to the talent on the team, not due to coaching. They never coach up our players. Tee Martin is horrible as an OC and Clancy Pendergrast is too stubborn to be an DC.
