Sankey shite the bed in this one.. and it sort of needed to play out for those in charge to see how poor this decision was.

Do we see a push to go back to the old format after this season?

I understand TV$ is involved, but if teams are losing more and the threat of missing playoff revenue is on the line, money is impacted either way.

It will not go away because the expansion to 24 teams make it more likely that several three loss teams will make the playoff. It was a money grab to move to a nine game schedule. Fans might feel shittier about their teams gaining an extra loss, but it won’t matter if that team makes the playoff

Why did Sankey give in on 9 game schedule and 24 team playoff?

of course it will last. the people that make the decisions don't give a shite about missing the playoffs if it means more money.

Yeah more 3 loss teams are in, but they would be hurt via seeding.

Does Sankey believe sending more SEC teams up north or out west to cold weather environments in 1st or 2nd rounds is advantageous to us? Or loss of bye weeks and health.

It’s still a loss for the league even if they are in.

There's no putting that genie back in the bottle.

On the surface it would appear that way but those other conferences will have teams with three losses as well. And depending on the other conference’s strength of schedule it may force the northern and western teams down south.

All the conferences and Notre Dame have agreed to a 9+1/10 P4 schedule.

ESPN wouldn’t let them backtrack on it if they wanted to.

The member presidents told him to do so. He's an employee.

I’ve never understood how one-sided this is. Half the teams gain an extra SEC victory. All of the teams gain a SOS bump.

And most importantly, since when did fans prefer comparing a stat (# losses) over an actual, in the flesh, IRL, game experience?

Who would rather hop on a message board M-F trolling about their loss record rather than watching their team play in, or perhaps even attending the game to witness, a great game against a tradition-laden program?

Seems to me most of you “fans” have totally lost the plot, and what you really want is some tribalism badge to wave in the face of people from other tribes. How pathetic

No. Better chance of the 12 games being:
9 SEC games
1 B1G game
1 ACC game
1 Big 12 game

That is where this is all heading.
