Walker has the SEC single season rushing record with 1891 rushing yards. Fournette is sitting at 1202 with 5 games remaining. Does the 30+ year old record get broken this year?

If he breaks 200 against WKU it'll really get interesting.

With the rest of our season and a bowl game (no playoff or SEC Champ game)

Rushing Yards- Herschel Walker 1891 yds on 385 carries (4.91ypc)

Fournette has 1202 yds on 150 carries (8.01 ypc) he needs to average 114.83 yds/game to break the record.

Considering Walker did his in 11 games and LF will have potentially 14 I'd say he could probably do it.

I think it absolutely does. Especially because LF will be credited with the bowl game stats and potential SECCG stats.

Alabama will be tough to run against, but I don't expect him to have less than 100 yards in any game. So worst case scenario he ends up with 1802. He also still gets to play A&M's run defense. I'm going WAY over.

Probably. Especially considering they include they include the bowl and any other games now and didn't then. Even without that it seems likely.

it's probably more valuable to look at total number of carries, right?

If he stays healthy, I don't see anyway he doesn't with the remaining schedule. With as hard as he runs, especially after initial contact, that'd be my biggest concern with LF at this point.

No offense but look at their YPC. It's not like Fournette is going to win purely on amount of games (carries).

Then you made the excuse that he would because of more opportunities, which is false.

Too lazy to research. I wonder how many cupcake games walker played that year. If LF doesn't break it in 11 games part of me hopes he doesn't get it. If he does it after playing 11 games I'd consider it an apples to oranges record.

I understand that. But you mentioned a less relevant reason for why you think he'll do it, most likely to introduce some subtle downplay, or at least imply an advantage of him breaking it. Other than that, I'm not sure why 14 games with 300 rushes is any more of an advantage than 11 games with 385 rushes.

His two hardest games rushing is Arkansas and Alabama. WK, A&M, and Ole Miss aren't exactly stout against the run. Ole miss is in the top 40 but they gave up 200+ to Alabama. He can get it against those three teams alone.
