Fournette is sitting at 1202 with 5 games remaining. Does the 30+ year old record get broken this year?
ya.
if he avgs more than 137.8 yds per game he'll break it.
LF7 will break that and get 2000 in 11 games.

the question asked if A would have more yards than B.
Fournette is going to break the record before the regular season comes to a close. That will be 11 games for him.

His two hardest games rushing is Arkansas and Alabama
I can understand Alabama but Arkansas? They gave up 4 ypc vs Tennessee and an insane 6.33 ypc against Texas Tech. Fournette is going to chew Arkansas up and spit them out.

Kentucky (3-8, 2-4)
Temple (5-5, In.)
Florida (7-5, 3-3)
Auburn (5-6, 2-4)
Georgia Tech (1-10, In.)
#4 Pittsburg (11-1, In.)
That is a hilariously awful schedule.

guess I'm just in awe of how many times Herschel carried the ball in that one season, and over his career. Dude was a beast. He had over 1000 touches including receptions in 3 seasons.
Was talking about this last week. 3 years 1000 touches in college, plus he was a track star, 3 years in the USFL, 13 years in the NFL, was on an Olympic bobsled team, then did MMA.
Has to be one of the most gifted and durable athletes of all time.

Hell will freeze over before fournette runs for more than 200 yards against Arkansas.
LMFAO.
Texas Tech's top 2 RBs combined for 15 carries 120 yards and 1 TD vs Arky. That's 8 ypc. Fournette will roast pig in Death Valley

excellent post.
I don't care if somebody (not just LF, some nameless yet to be known player 20 years from now as well) breaks every HW record there is, there simply will never be another like in the mold of herschel and bo. Period. Lot of it is like you mentioned..you can compare stats all day but it was simply a different era. Just like the 80s were a different style of ball than the mid-50s. 35 years is a long time.
Fact is that Herschel and Bo were as big as the other teams defensive ends, yet were also the fastest people on the football field. We simply won't ever see that again.
And here is the other side of the coin. Defenses were a hell of a lot smaller back then. They were a hell of a lot slower as well. Do you know how many true freshman RBs just last year were anywhere from 225-235? Do you know that a DE at 230 right now is considered a tweener? Hell that's medium size for an LB.

That's kinda my point. Imagine if a RB nowadays was 250 but was also the fastest person on the field.
There just won't ever be another period in time where you have figures like that on the field.
