Not a troll honest ?. With all the sec minus Arky going
with some kind of fast pace offense even Bama open it up last year. With all the talent LSU has everywhere else it always comes back to QB play that keeps them from taking the next step from being national contenders
every year.

We already have a great QB committed.

We have another and possibly top prospect at the position committed for 2018.

Anthony Jennings was a true sophomore. Harris a true freshmen. It was lack of experience.

Remember Mett didn't light the world on fire his first year in 2012. It took till about midway, but he was junior with a year of Cam's teachings under his belt in 2013 when he threw for 3000+.

It's also worth noting our oldest starting WR last year was a sophomore as well.

LSU runs a pro style offense which should attract some top guys but the HS's are churning our Duals and colleges are scooping them up because it boosts the average teams offensive output but the players that come out of those systems are ill prepared to make it in NFL. Cams offense was too complicated for the green QB's and green receiving corps to master last year - we were incapable of putting up Mettsiah/Beckham/Landry numbers last year and probably wont this year but we will be much better throwing the ball this year. Incoming QB's need two yrs min to get competent in our scheme and we have not had it.

Miles the last few years was recruiting both Pros and Duals for QBs and nobody knew what the hell the plan was. Now they seem to be looking for Duals that can be coached up to Pro style.

Good honest question

So should Miles just let Cam go after who he wants as QB?

We've signed some highly touted guys. The problem is that we usually recruit dual threat qbs and then ask them to do the things pro style qbs do ( take snaps under center, read defenses while taking 3,5,or 7 step drops, and go through progressions that take you passed your second read).

Their OC is by far the highest paid in CFB. Just silly that they could literally hire the best for less.

Only because Chad Morris left clemson. He was the highest paid OC in the country until 2015

We have a 5* starting this year, another committed for 2016 and another in 2018. So no.

Bo Schembechler didn't run no fancy pants offense, and neither will Les.

This is oversimplified, and overstated.

What you're calling a dual-threat QB is really just a bad QB. There's nothing inherent, no specific gene sequence within a more athletic guy that means he won't be able to play in a pro style system.

Anthony Jennings is not a dual threat quarterback. He is a bad quarterback.

Brandon Harris played high school football in Louisiana. Every snap he took in high school was out of the shotgun, and Cameron asked him to master the playbook Mettenberger, a 5th year senior, ran.

Saying that a dual threat QB cannot run a pro style offense is lazy.

They need to go after pro style QBs. BAMA seems to be able to find QBs to plug into a pro style system , I don't understand why LSU can't do it . LSU should try to recruit pro style guys only. Maybe these dual threat guys are scaring off some of the pro style guys.

Miles doesn't know how to properly evaluate QBs in the recruiting process and he doesn't know how to develop them. Even Mettenberger had just one good year, and he was still spotty in big games.

Congrats to all of our fans who think Franks will be the answer. We all thought Ryan Perriloux, Russell Shepard and Brandon Harris would be the answer, too.
