Silence is Compliance

Posted by SwampyLSU on 6/15/20 at 12:28 am
Allowing this devastation to our cities has shown positives. The Left is exposing themselves for what they are. Most good hearted people don't live in these cities and if they did, most have probably shifted further right at awe of what they see and realize they should probably move. Trump not taking super aggressive moves is actually a show of strength. Let what they created destroy themselves. Silence is the best option at this point, comply with their own exposure and show up Nov 3rd.

Need more than that bud
That's awesome. Ive been able to see a couple of the games. We only get one channel and they usually put the best games on. Time frame tonight looks about right too. Still waiting to be that shellback... but at least I can now, as of last week, say I'm a blue nose
Currently on deployment on an Aircraft carrier. I've been taking a lot of heat out here lately with some bandwagon bama fans but I'll be rooting for my tigers tonight half way around the world.

Kap started the protest because he thought people of color were not being treated equally, especially by police. The only thing it had to do with money is the fact that in his eyes the people being affected were impoverished and didn't have a voice. His mission was to change the way those people were being treated, not to change their environment.

...

quote:

I'm not sure where your idea of money equating to the success of the protest is coming from

It is also an accentuated position that people of 'color' which he supports are being mistreated. In most cases the fault comes on a committed crime or felony. In most scenarios a lack of proper education = poverty = crime. In order to fix this, you have to change the environment starting with education which costs money. You act as if I don't understand the situation. What is the purpose of raising awareness if you don't intend to actually correct the problem? In this scenario his actions are indeed selfish and probably just for personal attention, to feel the personal gratification as if he was 'helping.

quote:

That was their goal. It wasn't to raise money for poverty or anything like that. Basically, your last post further supported my stance.

And what is the purpose of awareness without the resources to properly correct the situation? Raise money how exactly?
As with the last few posts your intelligence has surely proven your inadequate understanding of the dilemma.
quote:

He went against 32 owners to speak up for an entire race of people he thought were being treated unfairly

and he has every right to do so. At the same time those 32 owners, as well as the American people, have every right to disagree with his 'consensus', which as you have noted is impossible to come by.

quote:

That would be extremely unselfish in my book.

Unselfish in terms of courageousness absolutely. In other terms not quite. By kneeling for the flag what is he actually accomplishing, awareness? sure, but that's about it. In terms of monetary contributions, as most impoverished communities would acclaim money supported towards 'poor' people are the most supportive, his kneeling (reducing his funds) ultimately reduces the amount he as to ACTUALLY contribute towards impoverished communities. Therefore, him kneeling actually reduces his solution to solving the problem. How again is that not selfish?

quote:

As long as that camera is pointed at him or that microphone is on his face, that's his stage

Wrong again. The stage belongs more to advertisers than to anyone else. Do you even read?
quote:

Well, he's the one on TV and at the podium. He's the one with a microphone in his face. That part is his platform

This is a very ignorant statement. It's not his platform it's the NFL/owners'. Hence the fact he isn't signed right now might be due to the fact that they don't want him 'with a microphone in his face, on TV and at the podium'. He might of been at the platform for a second, but does that mean he owns the platform? not at all..
quote:

was strictly talking about it from the selfish standpoint.

That was exactly my point.. using someone else's platform to talk about what you personally deem important is the definition of selfish.
quote:

using the platform he has

It's not exactly his platform. It's the nfl/owner's platform. In this case it would be selfish to push 'his' agenda vs the owners/nfl especially when the nfl gets paid to promote the military. And what exactly is unjust? upon what judgment? His? if so then we/nfl owners have every right to disagree with his views and not support/sign him. As a person in active duty service who disagrees a lot with US foreign policy I find it pretty disrespectfully to kneel before an ensign that gave you the right to do so...

feduccia right now might just be our best all around player, and its just you.
Sometimes I say 'UL' meaning University of Lafayette

a Rueben Foster type LB

As much as I'd hate to say it, Rashaan Evans could be a good pick. Reminds me a lot of Debo Jones and I think that speedy mike is where a lot of defenses are headed these days. But I think we play it safe and pick the OSU end Sam Hubbard.
Darrell Williams is really the only one I can think of this year. He's a thumper and probably LSU's mvp the last couple of seasons even with Guice and Fournette. He'd make a good late rounds/ufa addition as a #3 back.

Who in their right mind would root for the Vikings?
We are usually pretty lock down for larger portions of the game. Most of our yards against us come from big plays off of blown coverage. We have the skill back there, they just need to pull it all together.
Sabans voting for Hillary

Caint's isn't a word

I have honestly never heard or seen that.
Not a statue of Liberty, but I think Fournette throws a pass this game. They line up in the wildcat on the goal line and Fournette makes a jump pass to score a td.
