Does Florida Have the Top Athletic Program in the SEC?

I say yes.
Only school to have at least one championship in football, basketball, and baseball in the 21st century. Also, the only program to have three championships in football and basketball. Also, the only program to hold championships in football and basketball at the same time. Add in all of their other championships, and their program is unlike any other. Florida basketball is the top program in the SEC, supplanting Kentucky (sorry Cats fans). Now Florida football needs to figure it out, because they have been mid for too long; CFB needs the Gators to be elite. Florida's schedule is somewhat kind to a first-year head coach. Playoffs might be in the Gator's future, while a basketball Natty is more than possible (and will drop 100+ on Bama again). CHOMP!

I would say Texas has the best AD followed by LSU.

You guys beat bama a few times in football & have 1 good baseball season and think you’re on top of the world. Most delusional fans in sports.
We have 29 championships since 2006, including the big 3 sports. No one else comes close.

No it doesn't. The periods that the Gators have been good at football are the exceptions. Typically you have been the dumpster fire you are now. You've just regressed to your normal state, with respect to football anyway. You guys are pretty solid at baseball and I wouldn't argue if someone called your basketball program elite.

The Director's Cup is the trophy awarded to the best AD in the nation. Texas did win it, again. But, I give the edge to Florida because they've won titles in one of the big 3, while also being top notch across the board.

It's 2026 not 2006. They have rankings for this kind of stuff. I remember seeing the 2025 rankings a few months back and Florida being ranked pretty low among SEC teams jumped off the page.

Curious what ranking you saw. Florida won the SEC All Sports trophy and finished 2nd among SEC schools in the national directors cup at 6th nationally. 42 consecutive top 10 finishes in the Directors Cup, only school to never fall outside the top 10 since the standings began.
I think there is a pretty strong argument UF is the most consistent, well rounded athletic program. Especially if talking last 30 years or so. 77% of our sponsored sports have won at least 1 national title. 270 SEC titles, far more than any other program.

And if it wasn’t for Georgia we’d be trash in basketball too Stricklin probably would’ve just given Mike white a 10 year extension this past year had it not been for Georgia saving Florida basketball.
That said, it’s pretty remarkable that since 2000 we have won titles in the big3 sports, with multiple in football and men’s hoops, especially since we’ve had the 2 worst ADs in the conference the past 30-40 years (yes foley sucked too).
There is clearly potential for UF to have a top 5 type of athletics department, and if we ever fired the losers in the UAA and hired a non retard for an AD we could potentially have this discussion.

Florida has the most SEC titles by far. Over 200. They can win an SEC title in any sport and have except for women's hoops. Texas is the primary challenger to that, but they'll need to get track & field in order to truly be considered the best overall.

Remind me when the last time LSU made even a Final Four in Basketball? You have an elite Baseball program, a very equal Football program(win perc, Natties, head to head...very, very close]
