I'm not making that up, their all-time tournament record is 5-10.

I have a sneaky suspicion that black folks, and some whites, are the only ones that really give a shite.

Ok, you picked a year with historic also rans with small and uninterested alumni bases. This was last year

In 2022, the average resale price for a ticket to the National Championship game was $212.00.
So the AVERAGE of the lowest and highest ticket prices was 60% of the lowest price period for the National Title in football??? Thats even worse...the average included floor seats and the like. It was lower than the cheapest ticket available for the football title.
Last years basketball TV audience was the highest ever and a 13% increase over the previous year. 10.7 Million viewers. 2 blue bloods duking it out.
Last years football championship audience was the lowest ever and a 30% decrease from the previous year. It was 17.2 million viewers. One team with a small fan base and the other fresh off a natty the year prior.
I guess instead of nobody cares it would be kinder to say that for every 1 person who cares about college basketball there are 25-30 who care for college football.....

And remember, this is the 6th post season game played for each of these two team
The football natty was the 3rd post season game for each fanbase and the tickets to the conference title and semi finals were double what the tickets for the championship game were. Double might not be quite accurate---3X as much may be more accurate.

Law of supply and demand.
The west and east champs historically have stadium capacity that seats over 80,000. The Benz seats 71,000 people.
I've had a pair of mezzidine tickets to the SEC Championship since inception.
If Auburn does not go or I do not give them away for business purposes I can drive to FanFest and they are sold for a brick of gold before I get in the door.

Are UGA fans ok? They've been making threads nonstop about how they don't care about basketball.
Generally if I don't care about something I just ignore threads about it rather than making thread after thread about it

Additionally, the game was played in Inglewood, California.
ESPN networks averaged 17.2 million viewers for Georgia's blowout win over TCU in the CFP national championship game Monday night, ESPN announced Tuesday, marking the least-viewed CFP championship game since the BCS era began in 1999.

Stop embarrassing us.
This man does not speak for UGA. March Madness is awesome, and most of us with that our bball team was competitive.

Sorry UGA is shite at basketball. It'll be ok.

It takes bigger balls to play basketball.

I have 4 in mezzanine section to the SEC CG since the first year it was in Atlanta also. If UGA is in we use them, if UF is in them a friend uses them, if neither is in it we sell them. Once upon a time UGA played Arkansas and we could only use 2. Literally could not give the other away...we tried. Admittedly we only knew the morning of the game that we 2 we werent going to use but outside of that year we have sold them for a pile'o money...even to the point that I sold them in 2021 because someone made me an offer I could not refuse...
There are roughly the same number of tickets available to the SEC CG as there has been to last years and this years basketball championship. Last years was a contest between 2 blue bloods with supportive fan bases which travel. The average price for basketball was lower than the lowest price for football, basketball was a conference title, basketball was a natty. The supply was roughly the same, deman wasn't nearly as high for basketball.

Is anyone, and I mean ANYONE, arguing that college football is less popular than college basketball? When did the thread shift from

To
“It’s not as popular as college football”
Oh, that’s right, you are the new internet Bama fan, pissed off when nobody is paying attention to you

Well he’s moving the goalposts because his OP isn’t the gotcha he thinks it is.

Geez, UGA fans becoming like bama fans… “we suck in every sport except football so every other sport sucks and is meaningless “

It’s entertainment. I like CBB and it would be great if UGA took it more seriously. I like college baseball and wish UGA again took it seriously (we haven’t for a while).
That being said recreational time is finite. I follow UGA Football, the Braves & Falcons year round. I watch the Hawks, PGA, & United frequently. And most of these take a backseat to me playing golf, fishing, or shooting birds. I watch the tournament in CBB but it’s hard to get interested in the regular season. I have kids from 6-14 I’m often at their games. Recreational time is not unlimited.

Georgia being heavy favorites had a lot to do with that. I think the line for UGA was the largest ever for a championship game. And TCU wasn’t the most exciting opponent. Since the game was all but over before the half I can see why some people that were not UGA or SEC fans started tuning out. It’s not Georgias fault that they were that good. No matter. Georgia fans were watching and we were loving each and every minute. Back to back babee!!!

No. There is no loss in the history of Bama basketball that gives me one ounce of discomfort. Football is the opposite. Some football losses from years ago are still irritating.
