1969 Arkansas and Texas when President Nixon attended the game.
1971 Oklahoma Nebraska game is one of the first one I remember and the 71 Sugar bowl with Auburn.
Around that time I also remember Arkansas being on TV because my Uncle pointed out to me when the camera panned to Colonel Sanders who was in the crowd watching the game. To me seeing Colonel Sanders at the game wasn't that big of deal because he was on KFC commercials durning the commercial breaks.

First college game I attended was in 1949, Southeastern Louisiana played LSU in Tiger Stadium. Tigers won bigly (interesting factoid: even though the Tigers led big at half time, Coach Tinsley was not satisfied with the team's effort. He pulled the first two teams and sent them to the practice field for full contact workouts and allowed the third team to play the entire second half.)

LSU vs. O.Miss, 1958, Cannon's punt return. No tv back then, only 68,000 seats, #1 vs #2, my Dad made over 200 phone calls, according to Mom. We sat on the first row in the South End zone, watched Cannon run away from us, the perfect view as his run developed.

LSU vs Rice in 1974 at what was then called State Fair Stadium in Shreveport.

1978 Orange Bowl vs. Sooners. I only remember it because my dad was yelling "go you son of a bitch" at the tv. He was, loudly, cheering on Rowland Sales. I was 6.

Been to a ton of venues and watched some great games (Iron Bowls, Horns-Ags, LSU-Bama, etc) over the years.
As a kid though, the one that stands out by far was Army-Navy at the Meadowlands. Got to spend the day before in Annapolis and then travel over to the game. It was freezing cold, but to this day still unrivaled in terms of meaning and pageantry.
If you love college football, that’s a bucket list for sure.

The Miracle of George Blanda
I was 6, and my first game was the third game mentioned in the article:
The following Sunday, Blanda came off the bench to throw a touchdown pass to tie Cleveland at 20, then kicked a game-winning 52-yard field goal with three seconds remaining to earn the Raiders a 23-20 win.
Within a few weeks, I had an Oakland Raiders bomber jacket, toboggan, pajamas, and uniform.
I barely survived the Immaculate Reception a couple of years later.

Oddly the first football game I recall attending was Arkansas vs Texas A&M 1984. I was 7 years old.
It made an impression because the cold sleet/rain in Fayetteville that day had us abandon the stadium in the 3rd qtr and we watched the end in the lobby of Gregson Lodge on campus (I wan to say there was a fireplace).

Yes
1973
State-Ole Miss game in Jackson.
Was not called the Egg Bowl in those days.
OM turned a tight 14-10 4th quarter lead into a 38-10 blowout that distorted how close the game really was. That represented the end of Ole Miss’ total domination in the series. From 1947-1973 Ole Miss was 21-2-4 against State. That represents most of the difference in the rivalry. On the FIELD (which I think is all that matters), Ole Miss leads 64-49-6.
The forfeits, vacated games etc. are ridiculous IMO.

1982, ole miss vs Bama. Tight game in the first half. Jesse Bendross, Walter Lewis, Joey Jones, Ricky Moore and Lonnie Patrick took over in the second half for a blow out at old Mississippi memorial stadium. I was already hooked by then but it was set in stone from that day forward

First game on TV that I remember was the 1968 season Rose Bowl. Ohio St won a national title is all I remember. First game I attended (age 10) was Arkansas St (opponent unknown) where my older sister was a coed. I was more interested in playing under the bleachers than anything taking place on the field.

In person: Dolphins vs Chiefs sometime during the 90s. On TV there were so many games on, I can't remember but it was for sure a Dolphins game, maybe vs the Steelers.

First game I remember anything about:
1964 a crappy OU team upset undefeated Nebraska. I remember after the game my mother talking about it excitedly on the phone. Saw my first high school game that year.
1965 Saw my first College game. October 28. Colorado 13- OU-0. I remember paying attention to the pros some that year and it seems like the Packers with Bart Starr was the first game I remember. I remember I liked that his name was Starr... and became a Packer fan.
The first college game on TV I remember was Nebraska against Alabama that year in the bowl game. I vividly remember the high school team that year. They made it to the top class state finals and lost. They've never been back.
