are any basketball players brought in legitimately to big time programs?
The old "well, everyone else is doing it" excuse.
Great job.

Smart: Born and raised in Baton Rouge
Tremont: Got out of LOI bc of coaching change and other big schools had spots filled already.
Naz: Girlfriend already went to LSU before he ever committed.
Days: 4 star out of Florida
Emmitt: Had some legal issues and everyone else backed off.
There you go jackass

LSU has had an angle or relationship with every recruit they've signed. Naz Reid's girlfriend was already at LSU and on the women's basketball team. Javonte Smart is from Baton Rouge and didn't get the UK offer, which is the only place he would have gone outside of LSU. Emmitt Williams played for the same AAU squad as former tiger Antonio Blakeney and LSU already had momentum of other highly ranked guys committed (someone already mentioned his legal issues that caused a lot of schools to backoff).
Tremont Waters was let off his LOI after Georgetown's coach was fired and few schools had open spots. He wasn't a super highly ranked player though.
Not to say I'm naive enough to think that LSU didn't do anything shady, but no more so than every other school in the SEC. What LSU hoops has done is nothing like what Ole Miss did in football.

1. LSU brings in good classes about once or twice every 5 years. 2 we had connections to all recruits. 3. Every team and I mean every team in College basketball is dirty. If you had any integrity you would admit that.

Your last two good classes had at least three players who were paid. Sampson, Quarterman and Martin. So yes. There is precedence.

Simmons didn't even want to go to college. He had to go and decided to go where his godfather coached at.

I don’t believe any top 100 player go to school with out some money or incentives to get them there.

I believed it just as much as I believe Alabama legitimately lands the #1 class most years.
