That's kinda neat. I have a launch 60GB PS3 that still works, but I can get nervous every time I use it that it's finally about to die. Still has all of my original PS1 FF save data. Lots of good memories there.
Any reason you picked this series over the others that he’s written?

He's not Joe, but have you tried Rob J Hayes? He's a solid Abercrombie lite.

What would you recommend from him?

ETA: Should have just kept scrolling

Thanks for the rec

Yeah, it sounds like gaming losing its luster for you is likely just a symptom of the larger issue you're describing. And like you said, it's become extremely common, unfortunately. Between social media and short form video content, people's attention spans are getting absolutely crushed. Other than a full detox, I would suggest some exposure therapy, though I wouldn't choose something that supposed to be fun, like gaming. Every day, find a long form news article about something you find at least somewhat interesting, and make yourself read it. The whole thing. You can take breaks to just sit, but you can't take a break to do anything else, and especially not to pick up your phone. Start with full fat NYT-esque articles and move into long form New Yorker-esque articles. But like I said, the most important thing is that you turn off notifications on your phone and don't pick it up. Doing so is the root cause of the issue.

I've had to do similar things. When I'm going to start a game, I completely move my phone out of my reach. Too easy to just waste what little free time I have just scrolling.

Don't really feel aged out. Just not as much time for me to play and I find myself less and less interested in newer titles. Expedition 33 is great, but most gaming time is playing older games instead.

Hopefully he can get back on track. Butcher turning into Martin/Rothfuss lite and putting out Dresden books every 5-6 years has been extremely disappointing.

He's raised the stakes so high with the last few books, I don't think he thinks that a more normal story would be ok. With how powerful he's gotten, I'm not sure there's much else to expect. It's sad but at least Butcher is making progress.
I've finished Carl 1-7, so I've moved back to the Riyria series. Hasn't been quite top level yet, but it's just so consistently good that I regret not reading this before now.

I have no idea to be truthful.

I only criticized you because what you said wasn't truthful. The PC port doesn't have secret uncensored outfits.

I didn't make it political lol
Stellar Blade is great, but this sounds like some grifting lol. The game's content is the same as what's on PS5 now.

I wish I could forget everything about Era 2 and read SoS again for the first time. Probably my favorite Mistborn book.

Interesting. It might be my least favorite Cosmere book in total. What did you like about it? It felt like I was reading a filler or side story novel.

Book 3 was bit tough with the noodle, but I just kinda ignored and kept on going. Very enjoyable. Finished book 3 yesterday and already jumped into book 4.
I can understand it to a degree. There's a lot of other non-football infrastructure that needs to be build and upgraded as well. I'm sure no one wants to be kept holding the bag, but they're certainly more conservative than I was expecting.

I wish I could’ve snagged a physical copy before they skyrocketed in price. Hopefully there will be a reprint one day.

They promised that they'll keep printing more copies of it. I wasn't going to chance it because it was incredibly odd that they weren't taking preorders for it. Didn't like that one at all.

Reading some things saying that some of these devs are ex-ubisoft devs. Possible since French based.

Lol at ubi if true.

Makes you realize how much good talent is wasted in the giant corporate game companies.
I went ahead and ordered a physical copy. Won't get to it for a while, but I'm glad they seemed to have put a lot of care into it.

I see. It's kinda hard to base many recommendations off that, but I'll list a few that I think are just very good.

Vagabond
Berserk (very dark fantasy, may not be to your taste as intro to medium)
Vinland Saga
20th Century Boys
Frieren: Beyond Journey's End
Witch Hat Atelier

I highly recommend using a website like MAL as resource. It has a huge database and you'll be able to find recommendations and rankings by users.

Highest rated Manga - LINK

Recommendations Based off Nausicaa - LINK

If you want something a bit easier to get into, then I'd probably recommend something like Fullmetal Alchemist or One Piece.

What type of genres are you interested in?

I have not read any adaptations of Ghibli films to answer that question.
I think you could also accomplish the same thing by self destructing?
Theft of Swords is the consensus starting point.
