I never understand fans like the OP. You can be critical and a realist while also believing you can slowly climb the ranks of the college football world. Just because historically you were bad doesn't mean you're forever doomed to be at the bottom.
Clemson is a prime example of a program that would blow up in big games. They went from WVU blowing them out 70-33 in the 2012 Orange Bowl to two National championships and playing in 4 playoffs.

I never really had a beef with South Carolina fans except the ones on Rivals who used to come to the Kentucky board to tell us they were gonna whip our asses back when they had Marcus Lattimore healthy and half of those accounts were tator trolls.
I assume this is a response thread to the journalist (who I believe is SC based) who went on Finebaum and said you cant lose to Kentucky 5 times in a row and be taken seriously... who later clarified you can't lose to anyone in the SEC multiple times in a row and move up in the league.

You are a complete idiot if you think Kentucky doesn’t care about football. We’ve supported terrible teams over the years and still show up. How did FSU’s stadium look last year when the Noles were garbage. Keep your ACC arse out of a conversation you know nothing about.

Fighting Gamecocks don't possess this so-called superiority complex that's being thrown around - but we are used to finishing ahead of Kentucky in football far more often than not. Simple as that. Kentucky has sone great long-time football fans but USC has always been a football first school regardless of results.

So why is WV the example always cited.
Clemson's defense struggled that entire season, the offense was winning the games. WV was able to exploit a known weakness.
WV probably ahd the top scoring offense that year with NFL QB and other NFL players.

South Carolina is a sleeping giant . Spurrier managed to get them to 11 wins and stomp a mudhole in some very good teams.
