But he said LSU head football coach Ed Orgeron brought up the subject of his then-girlfriend and Guice about a year after the alleged assault, telling the athlete that he shouldn’t be bothered by it.

“(Orgeron) said, ‘Everybody’s girlfriend sleeps with other people,’” the former player told USA TODAY.

Orgeron was on staff, correct and became interim HC in 2016 and was HC in 2017, which would align with the “about a year after the incident” timeline?

All of this happened in early 2016, while Miles was still head coach.

If Orgeron's comments a year after really happened, it sounds like he thought the sex was consensual and he was trying to be sympathetic toward the kid he felt like got cheated on.

There's no evidence that Orgeron ever knew about the rape allegations.

Not saying nothing happened. But hell we have all been in environments no matter if it is school or work where their are a large group of ppl.
Office, plant, school, shite like this is impossible to keep secret especially in today’s internet world. How did this not get out? Something for sure happened because of how he fell in the draft but raping 2 different women? I have always been skeptical of stories like this.

hat being said, what exactly do people expect coaches to do with an allegation like this that is not pursued legally?

They are mandated reporters. They still have to report it to someone above them if they hear about it.

And as the article states it was filed with the university

The AD and President and many more at LSU knew about this

I just fail to understand why it's hitting the news now, even with Guice's recent shite going on.

The people that would've known (King Alexander/Joe Alleva/Les Miles) have all moved on and are nowhere near LSU any longer. So what do these women have to gain 4 yrs after the alleged rapes?

Coach O really and nothing to do with this at all. Story just found a weird way to put his name in the article for clicks

He's the head coach of National Championship team who was on staff during the time of both alleged incidents. Of course he's going to be in the article.

One of the accusers reported it to the IX office, so its almost certain every coach on staff knew of the allegations against Guice, including Orgeron

If they knew and didn't investigate or discouraged her from pursuing further, its a terrible look for everyone

imagine being this stupid. you can't even make sense of the article that explains it clearly. also, if guice was violent in those episodes, all the more reason for her to have gone to the police. the last thing you would do is just say nothing thus enabling a violent person to commit more violence

Guice has money now, he didn't back then...easy to pile on when things are already looking bad for him.

I for one am not claiming this did or didn't happen because honestly it's almost impossible to know at this point.

But I will say how do you go back and prove any of this from 4+ years ago? It's 1 thing if we're talking dozens of accusers with measurable evidence like against Nasser from Team USA/MSU, but this is 2 people coming out 4+ years later right after Guice gets arrested claiming they got raped by him.
