The difference is you have to line up and play that talent and if they put it together it’s dangerous for an upset as well as that talent is more physical and athletic than what other conference see. As an outsider who is new to the sec I can attest with my own eyes.

hey at least the benefit of making it out on top of the 9 game SEC grind is you get to play another game against a tough team in a game that doesn't really help you.

They beat everyone they played last year. Schedule may be soft but when they had to play good teams they won.

Because they were healthy. When you play 10 power 5 games most against great athletes you get beat up over the year. Indiana just steals signs and rests until the playoff this year.

This…in spades. I couldn’t care less about Indiana’s reg season schedule. They beat OSU in the BIG Championship game and then beat 3 opponents in the CFP by an average of 25 points/game. That’s all I need to know about how good they were.

But talent doesn't equal wins anymore in CFB. The game has changed a ton the last few years. Indiana's talent overall wasn't as good as probably 10/12 other teams in the playoffs

Notre Dame might not lose and that would provide very little insight into whether they are an elite team or not.

But I think we found out how good they were. They finished the season with the #1 SOR in the country. 2 things can be true. You can be the best team in the country and your schedule wasn’t the toughest. Anyone remember Clemson back in the day?
