This isn't the 80s anymore, most coaches are doing a far better job of managing arms. When my son played, the coaches had a 70 pitch daily max and not over 100 for the weekend. That's not to say there weren't some coaches burning that one kid who can pitch, but in travel ball we saw far less of that than when we played rec teams as more kids can pitch in travel ball (every kids wants to be a pitcher). 11 of the 13 played high school ball and 3 of them went on to play in college. Zero injuries other than a collision at second that gave one kid a concussion. Admittedly we weren't one of the traction/marucci teams travelling all over hell's half acre but all our kids seemed to enjoy it (except for the 8am games) and have fond memories of their time playing. For whatever that's worth...
