If they had been Crispy Cream bags, it'd have been game over!

McDonalds bags? I dunno, how reckless is it if you aren't getting caught? Kid gets Uber Eats delivered and there are 5 stacks of $100 bills in there. Not saying this is how it happened, but if you are paying kids cash (which is how everyone knows is the best way to do anything to stay off the grid) you gotta get them the cash somehow, right?
I feel like the process involved in getting cash into McDonald's bags and distributed out correctly is somehow less subtle than just giving cash to them in a private moment. That option isn't smart either, btw. Coaches being involved directly in any form is really stupid.

This is 100% true. But Patrick goes on to ruin his credibility by bringing up Jason Witten as a possible replacement. Lmao.
He is also wrong about the SEC blocking Freeze. UT won’t hire him for obvious reasons, but he’s been cleared if someone wanted to take him.

Exactly. These guys need to watch Goodfellas and be like Paulie.

75,000.00 total is what is being thrown around. To a poor 18 year kid 5,000.00 on a recruiting trip is real money.

It would have been less suspicious if they used Chick Fil A bags.

Yea that was moronic, but at least he moved from "I have been told this is true" to "and what about Jason Witten?". It was clearly a "this seems like an out of the box option", not a "I'm told they will move towards looking at Jason Witten."
Because that sure as shite ain't happening

But if you give them money once then expect to have to continue
If you have to kiss their azz to sign them then expect to do the same to keep them

Exactly - the days of giving a kid a car or a house or whatever are gone.
But giving kids what most would consider "smaller amounts" ($5K) is a big deal, and is also not the type of money spent by a family that would cause massive attention.

Who makes the best bag for recruiting violations?
Chik-Fila or Popeyes?

UGA needs to be punished for what they are doing also.
Vols need to drop a dime.

I mean this sounds like the kind of story message board fans make up.
I have trouble believing professionals would do this. Even if the football coaches themselves are reckless, I would expect the boosters behind the money to be more intelligent.
I don’t know. I seem to remember OM leaving bags outside the door with IPads and money for recruits on visits. That could also be message board rumors though.

I feel pretty confident that there are a lot of kids who get handshakes once they arrive on campus. I doubt it's contracted out like SMU was, or for the same dollar values, but some sort of "help"? I think so, at least in the SEC.

Fulmer is 70. He’s going to move back to his home in Maryville and enjoy retirement. He will just fade into the background and show up at a couple games a year, and maybe speak every so often at events.
I've seen your fan base and they will never, ever, think of this Jeremy Pruitt fiasco and the NZAA damage to follow without thinking about the raise this guy got just a few months ago, much less who hired the guy.
No one will ever be able to separate these 2 in Tennessee football lore.

McDonald's bags? Damn, they really are stuck in the 90's. "Here's your "happy" meal from the "golden" arches!"

It's truly amazing what a complete dumpster fire Tennessee is. If all of this is true there is no way they will be able to recover from this. UT will be a cellar dweller of the SEC for many years to come.
...And that would be different from the past 10 years how?
UT has been a hot damn mess since ~2008 and Proot was farrr from a quality HC. It's not even just about winning games...he had poor control over the team and you could see it on the field. Plus, how many times do we have to watch him half-arse it through a season before we say "enough is enough." Say what you will about how all of this went down, but it was time for Proot to go. End of story. Glad that fat Phil is out with him too. Clean house, burn it down. Start over fresh. It literally can't be worse than what UT fans have been through for the past 10+ years.
