If Nebraska is smart, they will do everything in their power to bring in Matt Campbell at the end of this year.

Matt Campbell ain't going anywhere. They need to go after Napier, the DC from Wisconsin, or even Bill Clark

Nebraska back in the day was a national brand, they signed kids from deep in the south and nation wide to the program.

Too many programs have great facilities now and I don't think either of them could turn Nebraska to a national contender today

They could as both were known to adapt in the past as college football evolved.

Petrino can coach but it is alleged no one wants to work with him. He had a hard time filling out his coaching staff at Louisville. Have no idea if that is true or not.

He is a count, who sucks at recruiting, but Nebraska has enough draw, that he could probably recruit enough 3 stars and out coach most of the B10 being from Montana…

Also I would bet Gus would turn Nebraska around. He is better than all but maybe 2-3 coaches in the B10.

Nebraska’s only problem is recruiting.

No chance for either one as the State of Nebraska has a huge deficit in talent per capita to any of the current national championship contenders. They would have to be able to convince talented young men to show up surrounded by cornfields and fat white women to play ball.

Osborne was playing with a stacked deck and that is never coming back to Nebraska’s aid.

Yes! You get the best players money can buy, and get away with it (Saban has mastered the “Process”). That wins games period. When you have that much more talent than anyone you can’t lose. I’m not bitching you have to give him credit!

He isn't staying at ISU forever. Losing his 4-year starting QB after this year, and is at a school that is now in limbo with conference affiliation. His stock may never be higher at ISU than it is right now. I'm just saying if I'm Nebraska I am throwing $7mil at him and making him say no.

I think it would be a self fulfilling prophecy, which helped at Alabama but might be determinative at Nebraska.

Meaning that the amount of hype for a move like that would be unbelievable, so the media would do a huge amount of legwork on Saban's behalf (as happened at Alabama but 10x that now).

On some in-a-vacuum merit/abilities level, I'm not sure if Saban could do it at Nebraska or not. It would be a major uphill battle. But with all the fanfare and media promotion, with talking heads telling 17 year old all over the country that Nebraska will soon be titletown USA and kids can come be a part of restoring one of football's most storied programs, etc.? Yes, he could do it now.
