Winning an NC, probably not.

But the list of coaches who could get Nebraska playing respectable football is pretty long. They need to cut bait on Scott Frost

Saban is 100% the best college coach of all-time, no one doubts that. Recruiting is a big factor though. He wasn’t able to get those classes when he was Michigan State’s head coach prior to LSU. He was average at best, not even the best program in the state.

Recruiting is changing so much: NIL, portal, early signing day, etc.

May help or hurt Nebraska (or any team) depending on how the coaching staff adapts.

Saban yes
Bear no. Not with scholarship limitations.

Just curious... have YOU not improved in your work over time? As a parent, have YOU gotten better with balancing things and changed any of your approach over the years?

Saban was not the Saban he is now when he was a Michigan State. He has continued to learn, change, and grow. And if he went to Nebraska, he would take all of that with him

What idiot said this?

Tuscaloosa and Lincoln aren't remotely similar recruiting situations.

Tuscaloosa is obviously located in a top 10 talent state plus Alabama boarders two top 4 recruiting states to the east and has easy access to Louisiana and Texas to the west. Its almost the perfect recruiting situation for any P5 school much less a blue blood like Bama.

Could he do it eventually? Yes.

In 4-5 years? No.

My answer is no. I think the culture of today’s high school kids makes Lincoln Nebraska a place that does not offer the type of entertainment and other distractions for these kids.

Does Tuscaloosa offer that “type of entertainment?”

As a parent I would gladly send my son to Lincoln Nebraska to play for either of those coaches. I do believe Lincoln is a safer environment then Tuscaloosa or Baton Rouge. Outside of the city limits of Lincoln there is just nothing I don’t think a kid from the south would want to go play in freezing arse cold weather either. Just my opinion

Absolutely not. Nebraska doesnt have the resources or recruiting prowess to win a ship. those who think Saban could are delusional fanboys.

He couldnt win one at Mich St. it took the SEC talent to get him there

I think Saban could do it at his current age. He would probably need 4-5 years

In year 2 he’d beat everyone but OSU. In year 3 or 4 he would go all the way

People don’t seem to realize how many recruits would sign just because it’s Nick Saban. It doesn’t matter which school he’s at. He’s gonna have the best coaching staff in the country

Yea, I’ve never been there so I don’t have a real idea of what it’s like. I’m sure it’s not the easiest place to recruit.

People said the same thing about Alabama not having enough talent anymore in 2006, for the record.

Even at their worst, Alabama was better than what we’ve seen from Nebraska.

Coaching matters, and Saban not only is the GOAT, he's a kingmaker in terms of coaches. He'd bag a great coaching staff and have top 5 classes instantly as long as the AD stayed out of his way. Crazy how y'all forget how bad the West was before he got there and raised the level of that side of the conference.

All this. Saban at Nebraska would get all the best kids from the West Coast, bag a couple Texas 5 stars and fill out the roster with talented B1G area players.

Nebraska still recruits at a top 25 level despite having a deadman walking at coach and being bad for years. A great coach can get players to go just about anywhere, Lincoln is bigger than most college towns and they have great financial and fan support.

Some people act like South Alabama should be a premier job because it’s close to talent.

Is Nebraska really that different than Michigan State? I’d think it would be similar results.
