It's when the games are within 28 pts, not games with margins inside 28 pts. When the games are outside of 28 pt margins it's what is commonly referred to as garbage time, and teams generally do not try to move the ball/score in the same way or with the game players.
Can you humor us and post the raw data

While I agree you are well intentioned, some of the games likely had 28 point margins somewhat early in the game, and I disagree that dogs are called off in those instances

Our last two games hurt a lot. Not sure what is going on but we've been sloppy. We need to come out and put it on Tenn

I don't get the obsession with comparing 2019 stats to 2020 stats. Seems some are scared of what was accomplished in 2019.

So 2019 QB vs QB that played in the SECCG:

JB: 3249yds 32TDs 4INTs
JF: 1724yds 13TDs 5INTs

These are stats against SEC only opponents and includes the SECCG.

Ole Miss, as I’ve been saying all year, is clearly revealed to be a quantity over quality offense by advanced metrics.

Bama’s offense this year is the best I’ve seen from a team in a long time.

Well, when compared to those 3, sure.

Still pretty good advanced metrics on a per play/event basis.

So much for the GOAT season last year. Bama is about to top it.

Excluding our PLAYOFF game against OU, and maybe even against Clemson, is a bit disingenuous for the point being made.

SECstatcat's only option is either only SEC play or everything. Seemed relevant just to compare SEC play compared to the other option.

Actually, I think its only fair if you calculate the numbers if the game is within 4 points in the 3rd quarter with 5 mins or less to go when the opposing teams has all TOs and there hasn't been any injuries or ejections

The highest ranked passing defense in the SEC is Mizzou at 59th in the nation

Man, thats insane, and the reason why you are seeing multiple QBs look like freaks

Here you go

SEC pass defense 2020
- Median RANKING OF 84
59-mizzou
64-UK
71-BAMA
76-A&M
79-UF
80-UT
82-AU
86-AU
99-USCe
100-UGA
109-MSU
122-VANDY
123-LSU
125-OLE MISS

2019 rankings- Median ranking of 42

2-UK
13-MIZZOU
16-BAMA
19-UGA
25-UT
36-UF
49-A&M
51-LSU
60-AU
74-ARKY
79-USCE
86-VANDY
92-MSU
113-OLE MISS

This is all really bullcrap!

These stats include teams that have only played 1 or 2-3-4-5-6-7 games where Bama,Fla,Au & Ga have played 8 games.

Nice try, but it doesn't flush down the toilet!

It's just a very random exclusion criteria. To say that beating a #4 team and that points after you went up by 28 don't count...that's just inventing bad data to work with. Kill the non-power 5, otherwise include the full data set.

This is pretty standard, and it is done for a reason. The point of the data is to see how teams performed while trying to score and get yards. Garbage time generally is not a time when they are trying to do that, and the stats from that period are from non-starters that are not running the standard offense.

This is also why removing garbage time generally makes teams offensive numbers better, not worse.
