For clarification - the "within 28 pts" means only stats that happen when the game is within 28 pts are used. Eliminates garbage time. It does not mean games in which a team won by more than 28 aren't counted. Just FYI.

Stats all from SECstatcat

No 3 OOC cupcakes for anyone this year either.

This only includes SEC games when the game is within 28 pts margin

I've said before that I wish that this was a full season so that we could see how the offenses matched up. It would be really close. A lot of quality football being played on that side of the ball. Not so much on the other side.

I think the average SEC defense was better last year, so that probably has a bit of an advantage to the 2020 units.

So much for the GOAT season last year. Bama is about to top it.

So you completely removed the stats for 2019 LSU from the Vandy, Arkansas and Texas A&M games?

Did the game start with LSU up 29 points? If not, no.

Could you list out every team offensive statistic and weight according to average opponent defensive rank vs run and/or pass, as applicable?

That's what I was trying to clarify, so you would include the game up until it was a blowout.

I'm not going to go back and do that for LSU in 2019. Alabama has played the toughest defensive schedule in the conference this year to date per the stats I posted last week that did what you are asking about. I'm not sure about Ole Miss. Florida's was in the bottom 1/3.

I would assume that LSU played one of the top average defensive schedules due to playing Auburn and Georgia last year.

Yes - basically it only includes the stats up until the game reaches blowout status. It's not perfect, because different leads = blowouts at different stages, but 28 is generally a pretty good line of demarcation.

It's a shame that these stats will only be included for part of the first quarter vs LSU.

I was down voted to hell and back during the offseason for suggesting that offenses like 2019 LSU were about to become the rule and not the exception. It only took one year for this suggestion to prove true. I mean, shite, up until Tua went down against Tennessee the 2019 Alabama offense was arguably better than 2019 LSU.
