Those two were truly the best. Great classic voice, knowledge of the game. Truly felt like a fall saturday. Its a shame what ESPN did there. ESPN sucks donkeys.

Verne sucks. Has for years. Gary used to be sharp and I enjoyed listening to him call a game. This season, he's kind of annoyed me and made a bunch of mistakes.

I work with a guy that looks just like Verne. Just like him. Matter of fact I call him Verne. Kinda bumbles around like him too. Funny as sheet.

They don't get ragged on nearly enough. It was one thing for CBS to let Verne hang around a couple of years, but he has gone well past his expiration date. While they aren't as bad as the C and D team on the SEC Network (Dan Hawkins is actually worse as a color guy than he was at Colorado), they don't sniff the top 2 ESPN crews.
Danielson is knowledgeable. I don't think anyone can dispute that. However, it doesn't stop him from being one of the most annoying color guys in football. He won't shut the hell up. Ever. He rambles on all the damn time, through the entire game. It's especially bad when he's calling a game with one of his favorite players for that season. I don't care who it is. He works my last nerve, even when he's going on and on (and on and on and on and on and on and on) about an LSU player. It's ridiculous and honestly, unprofessional. I think his love for both Tebow and Cam Newton went beyond sport to some uncomfortable places.
Maybe Danielson does this to try and cover up just how bad Verne is at this point (which is sad, because there was a time when Verne WAS a great announcer. It's just been a while). Maybe Danielson will be better with a younger and more up to date play by play man. But for now, I can't stand either of these guys.
