Oregon was 7-6 last year and so was Duke.
Yeah Oregon and Duke are quite similar
Oregon in the last 10 years has been to 6 major bowls including 2 NC's, Duke has been to 5 bowl games in that period
Duke has had 6 losing seasons in the last 10 vs UO's 1
100-32 vs 59-67

hell, y'all quit playing Jacksonville St. because they nearly beat you...at home!
Quit playing them? we played them once

Why do we need to schedule up on the OOC teams? Think about it. It's not needed. The eye test on Bama will always come true.

They have no incentive to schedule good teams. Bama wants to go 12-0. They are always at risk of losing an SEC game, so why would they risk going 10-2? They don't need better teams to be ranked number 1. They're not UCF.

Is Duke the return game from 2010?

I also find it funny that Alabama waits until Lamar Jackson leaves to play Louisville.
Yea, we probably decided to avoid Lamar Jackson when we scheduled the game in July 2015, 2 weeks before Lamar Jackson's 1st practice on campus.

No, the 2010 Duke game was a return for the 2006 Duke game that Shula almost lost.

That's absolutely what happened.
NOBODY plays the long game better than Saban.

It is not Bama's fault.
You’re saying this but you’re still blaming Bama for this. The person you’re responding to said “scheduled” games. Like you said it’s not Bama’s fault if those teams don’t live up to their rankings.

Reaching WAY back into the Chip Kelly era, eh?
The last three seasons, UO is 20-18 and Duke is 19-19. Duke has WON two shitty bowl games. Oregon has LOST two shitty bowl games.
Oregon sucks badly and they are on their third coach in three years.

Auburn's OCC schedule
08/31 - Oregon (at Arlington, TX)
09/07 - Tulane
09/14 - Kent State
11/23 - Samford
That's Auburn's 2019 OOC schedule. We play Washington this year.

The schedule being discussed in this thread is our 2019 schedule. I think that's why the AU 2019 was brought up. I guess.

Kelley wasn’t the coach when they last played in the natty. Duke hasn’t sniffed any type of success except almost beating JFF in the chic fil a bowl and then they choked that away.

Not gonna lie, that OOC schedule is atrocious.
Agree. But.....
I think some teams see what Florida State looked like after getting demoralized the 1st game last year, along with Alabama's record in 1st games of the year and decided they would be better off trying to get us in the playoffs.

When has Alabama played Jacksonville State since Saban has been there? I’ll wait.

And they since fired the guy that was and then had his replacement leave after 1 season.

Neither has Oregon recently since Kelly's system and players wore off and left.
However, it's all moot. Auburn scheduled them thinking they'd be good like we've done for the past decade outside of this Duke abortion. That's all you can ask.

Notice that Penn State is the only home and home and they were shite at the time. Alabama is scared to schedule home and homes. Hell they’re scared to schedule quality OOC teams. Yes, stats from the last ten years is reaching way back
Just curious, when alabama fans cite stats constantly from 2007 and on, is that reaching way back as well?
