This seems rather disrespectful to us considering we had an overall young team last season and return our entire bullpen and 1 starter
We should be top 5
You lost all 3 weekend starters and your best two (by far) hitters. I think it's more than fair. By all accounts, your closer will be in the weekend rotation this year. That is also a net loss imo. Sure, he may be a great starter, but now he pitches once a week. Last year, if you got to the 8th inning with a lead, game over. Will be difficult to duplicate.

Maybe but I doubt it. I’m hoping we can start Pico and Fristoe and maybe Cade Smith who started midweek some and did well

LSU should be loaded this year. Vandy at 2 i don't see. Pitching depth will be an issue this year for them. Florida is vastly over-rated, as usual. Crazy how it happens every single year, and by the end of March they've flamed out.

Only way y’all get to number one is if all the other top 10 teams get Covid

I'm ready to be hurt again.
We got a bunch of bats. Can anyone spare an arm or two?

If we don't have the best offense in the SEC, I'll be very surprised. return the leagues top 2 hitters in Morgan and Crews, then add in Jacob Berry who had similar numbers to those two, as well as a potential first round pick in Doughty and a 20 HR guy in Dugas... going to be unreal.
Pitching is a giant question mark though. Have some guys but no proven starters yet.

I think it’s set that Landon Sims will be our Friday guy. Coach has said has much this off-season.
Offensively we lose TA and Rowdy but bring back the rest. I expect Kam James, Lotan and Kellum Clark to have huge years. Kellum came on strong at the end of the year and has loads of talent. He could replace a lot of TA’s numbers.
I’m sure like every year we will have a pitcher or two emerge and we have loads of talent at that position.
SEC will be a bloodbath again. I’m trying to make it to Baum for the arky series so I can experience the next best stadium/atmosphere in the conference. Should be a fun year

Collegiate Baseball isn't sold on Ole Miss's pitching this year, I take it. Offensively, we return pretty much everyone - along with a healthy Tim Elko.
I agree.
There is no way there are 18 teams better when looking at what is returning than the Hogs and Ole Miss.
Collegiate Baseball is always the one poll which is the weirdest at the start of every season though and always tends to overvalue teams.
How do they have a top 3 of Texas, Vandy and LSU?
Texas can pitch it with anyone, but the issue has always been offense. They mentioned someone who hit .249 in 2021 as a key piece to their offense. Sure, he can improve, but they still struggle on offense
Vandy loses Rocker and Leiter who threw like 40% of their innings and were far and away their best pitchers. Do they really expect Reilly and Little to take huge leaps and duplicate Rocker and Leiter?
LSU will be one of the top offenses in the country, but can they pitch enough to get anyone out? They have uncertainty about their staff.
Ole Miss returns like their top 10 hitters from an
elite offense which was right up there in the top of the country. Sure, Ole Miss loses Nikhazy and Hoglund, but Hoglund was out a good chunk of the season, and OM still won.
Arkansas returns 6 starters including 3 of our top 4 hitters and bring in several big time transfers and an elite freshman. I would say Arkansas has as little uncertainty about our team as any in the country. Sure, we had the ultimate trump card in 2021 in Kopps, but we had several other talented pitchers as well.

There's like 10 baseball polls and most of them will be all over the place!
Arkansas is always going to be salty, and I think OM will find some arms to get us into the top 10-15 by the end of the year.

Our big unknown is pitching... definitely not sold on Wiggins being part of the weekend rotation just like I wasn't with Zeb last season... lack of control and lack of secondary pitches. Maybe that was addressed in the Fall... we'll see.
Maybe Wiggins will be this team's Isaiah Campbell... who struggled early but finished his Arkansas career as the pillar of the rotation.

BaseVOLS return 6 starters in the field AND will have a much better and deeper pitching staff. Probably won’t be as strong defensively but should be strong enough.
