But calling 70% of the plays is not "leading the offense". It means when it came to the important calls, he wasn't making them.
So you think Joe Brady, a guy with no real experience to his name was hired to be the Clutch Play Caller and overrule or assume responsibility of the offense when he felt the holy spirit?
So, S. E. and J. B. just magically became terrific? Huh...? I guess they must have eaten their LUCKY CHARMS before every game!

I will say this: every time the tv cameras showed the coaches booth in every game during the regular season, I saw Brady talking most of the time and Ensminger just sitting there
I’m not saying Steve didn’t do anything. But the camera don’t lie. It was NOT 70% Steve imo
So, you are saying Ed Orgeron is a liar?

If you say it enough it will be true.
Poor, pitiful #insecureLSU.

My favorite off season post(s) has to be LSU fan and now coach trying to convince themselves that Joe Brady wasn't the key to their offense.

How about 3rd&17 at Texas
Brady was calling most of the 3rd downs.
This particular play was extended with our QB calmly stepping deep into the pocket and finding a receiver open.
You cannot call that play

but but but... blaming bad qb play on an injury suffered before the game? Nooooo

edit: In fact, that entire post is an excuse why lsu lost to alabama 29-0 in 2018. Yet, when an Alabama fan remarks that Tua was injured prior to the 2019 game that UA lost by 5 points, you want to disregard that.

None of the team had any chemistry and little experience, Burrow didnt even know many of his teammates names during the first game.
Burrow separated his shoulder two days before 2018 Bama.
LSU receivers dropped something like 10% of Burrow's passes in 2018.
Again, there were many reasons that 2018 LSU struggled.

Arguing this is stupid, since none of it is provable either way.
Over the next couple seasons, we'll get to see LSU without Brady and Burrow and Brady without Ensminger and Burrow and only then will we know the answers to these questions.

we got to see Ensminger and Burrow plus those same receivers in 2018. The result vs Alabama was 29-0

The style of offense was the reason 2018 happened .its not hard.

On-field production and the fact the Panthers plucked Brady are both strong points of evidence that he is probably not being totally honest, yes

How bout this. LSU led the country in avg yards gained on first down. End of regular season in was 9+. With the run LSU had post season I don't think it dropped much if any. SLINGER called ALL first down plays. JoeyB said in an interview that he called short yardage plays himself.
Slinger gets 9+ on first down. JoeyB called short yardage. Just guessing but I thing second and one qualifies. That doesn't leave much for Brady. Brady did call from the 12 yard line in to the goal line.

They took BRADY because he could implement the SAINTS OFFENSE for the panthers.

I'll tell you why the '18 offense struggled. Three returning starters. Two Olinemen and the TE.
NO RB on the roster gained over 100 yards season before
NO RB had scored a collegiate TD
WRs returned 28 receptions
JoeyB didn't arrive in BR till june/july
How that team finished #6 in the country is a testament to a quality coaching staff.

In '16 after SE was named interim OC the LSU "O" set team or personal records almost every game remainder of the season. As for Brady. LSU upgraded the PGC spot with Linean. Tigers went from two year NFL assistant to an assistant to a 16 year highly successful NFL OC.

So it should be worse than 29-0 this year with E and no Burrow or Brady, right?
Your logic is so sound that I can’t look directly at it.

Defense will be better than '19. DL returns two starters plus another two with starting experience. Dlineman that led his counterparts in tkls, sacks and TFL. LSU will have best DT rotation in SEC.
LBs return four with starting experience. Grad transfer all american.
DBs return a first team all american at CB. A starting safety that had better numbers than his running mate that won the Thorpe. Plus a three year starter at nickel.
