Ed Orgeron spoke at the virtual Baton Rouge Rotary Club Wednesday and provided some updates on LSU's offense heading into the season.

Early into his comments, Orgeron made it clear that offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger called 75-percent of LSU's plays last year and that the spread offense will be the same even without former passing game coordinator Joe Brady.

"Let me make sure everybody knows this. Steve Ensminger led this offense. Joe Brady taught us this spread offense, but Steven Ensminger led this offense and called 70 percent oft he plays."

I don't think it really matters or that LSU's offense is going to be terrible.

But calling 70% of the plays is not "leading the offense". It means when it came to the important calls, he wasn't making them.

Joe Brady called mostly inside red zone plays.
And you say he wasn’t making important calls.
How about 3rd&17 at Texas.
Or the big play to chase vs Florida. LSU O will be fine. Brady came in and taught them a few things. And Steve in implementing them into his schemes.

So you think Joe Brady, a guy with no real experience to his name was hired to be the Clutch Play Caller and overrule or assume responsibility of the offense when he felt the holy spirit?

Are we pretending that Brady knew how to call plays and run an offense despite having no prior offensive coaching experience?

Weird how LSU didnt immediately name him OC since he was apparently "Football Jesus."

Brady was calling most of the 3rd downs.

Those are the most important plays, especially in the type of offense LSU and Alabama run now that rely heavily on explosive plays that need space to develop.

He was hired for his knowledge on the type of offense LSU installed last year and you wouldn't have been able to do it without him.

You guys are pretty upset still after I told you I didn't think it really mattered or that LSU's offense would suffer.

Brady called most of the third down plays but I believe I read somewhere that E actually made the decision to be aggressive here and called the play.

Burrow made that play though.

Are you under the impression that anyone is arguing against this? You're talking about calling plays and leading an offense which is different than having the knowledge of a type of offense.
