all this will do is ensure more 9-3 SEC teams make it in favor of 10-2 Big 10 teams.

Id prefer a strength of schedule metric. The BIG is very top heavy and that’s only going to benefit a schedule like Indiana.
They avoid some heavy hitters but get the benefit of their association.

This could unintentionally trigger more realignment if conferences move to cull the weak herd members.

Did they not consider this before? I thought the whole reason for having a committee was to evaluate all aspects of the teams under consideration. If we're just using metrics, then go back to the computer.

Every power4 team should play two out of conference power4 teams. This will give cfp committee more samples to evaluate strength of conferences.

Believe it when I see it, they also in 2025 said they were taking SOS into account

If it is anything like that, at best what this means as they will take it into consideration for teams with the SAME record in the power 4 and not use it as a metric for teams with a worse record to get in above teams with a better record in the power 4

No conf is going to kick out teams for many reasons.
TV game inventory helps revenue, kick teams out you have less games and TV rights go down.
Other sports beyond football bring conf revenue as well. Can’t just look at football

B10 won’t change anything. They would rather gamble playing weaker teams but have better record and assume committee still puts them in. Instead of kicking bad teams out and having to play harder schedule with more losses.
This change 100% helps the SEC. And hurts all other conferences. The 9 game sched was a bad move - but this helps it a bit. However, that 9th game means you add 8 more losses to SEC teams. If those 16 SEC played OOC instead they likely go 14-2 on avg. So 9th game added extra losses. This move helps some. But a 9-3 team might be 8-4 due to that extra game and that would eliminate them from playoffs where at 9-3 they have a chance. Or 10-2 vs 9-3.

B1G will keep weaker teams, get less beat up during the season, and still get more teams in than they should.

This feels more like formally adopting a metric they were already using but couldn’t actually use by reference.

I'd rather a 9-3 SEC team than an 10-2 Boise State or some bullshite. The league is a gauntlet this year.
